William Brookhurst
From SuspireWiki
The strange, crotchety old man known to Atlanta as William Brookhurst was Embraced in 1943 by a Dragon named Adrian Sheppard. He joined the Dragons and largely kept to himself for much of his Requiem. He would come by Elysium often enough that most everyone knew who he was, but he certainly had no political triumphs to his name. He spent many years studying the occult by himself and working on the Coils of the Dragon. He disappeared in 1993, presumably to torpor, and did not wake up again until 2007.
When he awoke, the city was rather dramatically different. The old Prince was still Prince, but he was Invictus instead of Carthian, and ruling with his former Seneschal as his House-mate. Taking it in stride, William began re-acquainting himself with the goings-on of the city.
His on-again, off-again rivalry with Jared Deuchamps culminated with him taking Kogaion after Deuchamps seized praxis in the absence of Themesis (who had slipped into eclipse themselves). In nominal control of the Dragons, he worked steadily to secure his position, making deals with others in the city, until the night when a Crone named Caesar Vaughn seized praxis from Jared and murdered him, Aria Sanura (another long-time thorn in William's side), and virtually all his other opposition. The Dragons now indisputably answered to William Brookhurst, and he intended to keep it that way.
Things were relatively quiet after that. He took Nickoli Raskolnikov (the childe of former student Devon Jones) as his student, and Jones continued work on his own Coils. William mapped the entire city's Nests and ley lines, which earned him an invitation to the Sworn of the Dying Light. As things stand, he has a mountain of work to do as leader of the Dragons, trying to keep them on the simple path toward their respective Great Works without any of them doing something stupid and getting half the covenant wiped out by some faction or another.
