Lineage
About the Line
The line of Paplo Mendoza is actually a North American based lineage (originating in Mexico), and never actually has spread outside of that. There were no vampires that were embraced in Europe, though certainly some of the ones that were embraced within the line did come from Europe.
The line has a few characteristics in it's members that have seemingly been passed on through each of the embraces that have successfully managed to integrate into Kindred society.
While Mendoza himself was a Circle of the Crone, that's become a footnote with the vast majority of the line having become Invictus. While truly they are not a blooded line within the Invictus, it's almost universally accepted that they might as well be, especially with the contact they have with each other and the ferocity with which they go after individuals who might... embarass the line.
Once every 5 years, the waking members of the line meet in Mexico City, Mexico at the estate of the deceased Javier Martinez, the first Invictus of the lineage, which is tended to by Victor Chastaine. The meeting lasts one simple weekend where new embraces to the line are brought along and introduced to the alive and awoken members, and individuals who might not be on the path to becoming an Invictus are... discussed.
Notoriously, part of Zachary Dublin's created line broke away from the main portion of the lineage and joined with the Carthian Movement, at the 5 year meet, those Kindred (Ronald White, Esmeralda White, Jagr Makowski, and Yalina Dubbin) came with the impression that they would be able to stand on their own two feet and challenge the authority of some members of twice their age. The speed at which those Kindred were pruned from the tree of the line was staggering, and since that time, every childe who appeared to not be fit for the Invictus has been not-so-casually pruned or are at least given their fair share of warning when it comes to dealing with members of their line.
- It's possible, if you'd like, to make a character to add on to this lineage for play on Suspire, however, I'd (natasha) prefer you to talk it over with me first, so there's not any random confusion concerning it... I personally think it'd be kind of cool to play up lineages and such on the game, since they probably should cross paths and all occasionally!
