Description
One of the newest attempts to bring a variation of the Christian Church to the people of Sin City, the church calling itself simply "Verve" doesn't work out of a church, and it doesn't have ornate church traditions. No, Verve targets the people who grew up on MTV, Saturday Night Live and video games. They meet in a rented space that other sorts of small organizations use, and only have an attendance of around 150 people, with the numbers fluctuating from week to week.
The ordained priests are often just as well-informed on pop culture and music as any of their attendees, and try to spread the word of Christianity through the New message of love. In the World of Darkness, though, this falls upon deaf ears, time and time again. It wears on the priests, as it would for any person, to see relapses happen time and time again, but for now they keep at it, trying to ignore shady individuals' reputation outside of their halls as best they can.
Benefit
Wolf in Sheep's Clothing. As far as the church is concerned, you're one of their best members. They would never cast a suspicious glance your way - especially now that you've learned how to steer them in other directions. Your character will never be targeted by Church Hunter attacks so long as you don't manage to give yourself away. As one of the faithful, you can ask for favors from people who... might not agree with your reputation and activities, but believe they can "save" you, which is represented by being able to 8-Again on one mundane Academics or Occult roll (or Allies/Contacts in Religion) per week.
