The Velvet is a place for the "posh" singles of Atlanta (and even sometimes the neighboring states) in Buckhead. The place is overwhelmingly done in velvet, generally of lush colors like purple, red and blues with highlighting of gold and silver. Indeed, it's intended to be a place that individuals go to relax, have illicit relations with others of the same "social class" and generally unwind themselves (in various ways).

The dress code is strict, and the bouncers are exceedingly fickle, but what's perhaps stricter is the unspoken rule of conduct that states that patrons who are brought here are told by their friends (or escorts) of the Las Vegas coined term "What happens here, stays here".
