Description
The lonely stretch of Interstate 15 is a piece of highway you really don’t want to hit heading north with anything less than a full tank of gas because past Nellis Air-force base there’s nothing but vast desert waste land. Well, nothing except The V.
There isn’t anything to actually designate The V as a bar with the exception of a few neon beer logo signs in the windows, in fact it wasn't always just a bar. It used to serve as the meeting hall for the local Veterans Affairs chapter, but it's since been moved onto the AFB.
The building is not much more than a wooden shack that at one point in time was white washed but it’s since been left to the elements and the paint is now a worn grey and the wood is pitted and rotting. There are a few scrubby trees on the lot with lots of yellowed and dead grass and at least one motorcycle parked outside the front at all times, though later in the night there are more and more bikes lined up outside.
The interior is about as inviting as the exterior promises it would be. When you first come in you’re greeted by a giant confederate flag behind the bar displayed as proudly as any bar in the deep south would. There’s liquor, but it’s all fairly cheap stuff, lots of American beers on tap and the occasional bottle of juice for the bitch a man might have brought in with him. The seating is mostly stools along the bar. There’s a couple long fold out tables with some chairs arranged along the wall, making room for the only entertainment aside from the liquor there, the pool table and the dart board.
