The Praetorian is an Invictus coterie of varying size in New York City responsible for all Reeve and Archon duties in Manhattan. It is an elite outcropping of the Soldier's Guild, formed from a large group of slighted, martially able kindred tired of being looked down on by the Knightly Orders, they united to earn and demand respect. For this reason, the coterie which is very much structured like a Knightly Order, has never claimed to be one, although it often outnumbers any and all such Orders in the city. They are under an Oath of Fealty to the Alder Prince Isaiah Rosenburg, though, it is due to expire in the coming year. Eunice Campbell has lobbied heavily to take on all or part of the coterie as her vassals when next the oath is renewed, and many kindred are anxious as to what the potential consequences of a splitting of Invictus power might mean.
