The Free-states of the Oregon Territory used to just be “The Oregon Territory” and was a land grant from the King to his good friend Kenneth Langston, who was at best an uninterested Land holder. However, Kenneth was a very greedy man inclined to count his money just for the fun of it so he cherished the idea that he owned an entire Hold even if, at the time, the land was hardly worth having. The development of Las Vegas changed that and made Kenneth Langston a very wealthy landholder. Upon his impossible to ignore impending torpor, he gained a promise from the King that his childe, Cecilia Langston, could hold the territory until he awoke. Despite his wariness of giving a previously Invictus domain to a Carthian, he agreed. Immediately Cecilia changed it to the Free-states of the Oregon Territory and started reshaping the entire political landscape. This is part of the reason that the territory lost grasp of Las Vegas to the ambitious Joachim Diaz of the Tomesha Valley and is now once again a very poor Hold. Cecilia makes her home in the capital city of Portland, which is coincidentally the only city where she’s been able to fully enact her goals of pure democracy. The Faxist appointed to the Hold is Jacob Morales.
