Description

A large building located in Decatur, it used to be a baptist church then was condemned before being bought and converted into a small business which went under due to the recent economic recession. The outside is still relatively plain, the door is set in the center of the clapboard wood front with three several wooden steps leading up to a small porch. The windows are boarded up from the outside and liberally marked with graffiti.

Inside

Inside is one main room with an altar front and center, there are two rows of pews with a center aisle but only the front two are padded. There are several recently printed copies of the Catechism under the altar. Behind the altar is enough room for a small chorus to sit, to the right is an organ, to the left a piano. Behind each instrument is a door, each door leads to different ends of the same hallway which runs the width of the church. From this hallway spreads off five other doors, two are offices for clergy use, one is a library, one is a lounge, and the fifth is a converted bathroom - it retains the tile floors and walls but there are no plumbing fixtures in it.

The two offices are locked, always. The lounge is decorated comfortably with two couches, one arm chair, coffee table, two end tables and lamps. The library has works on mortal theology, medieval hymnals, the Testament of Longinus, and Sanctified pamphlets, and a selection of books on local urban myths (+1 on urban legends rolls). The bathroom has a metal table at one end but is otherwise bare.

Typical Mass Arrangement

The wooden altar is covered in a black altar cloth with a polished silver bowl in the middle. On each side are red pillar candles on blackened silver candle holders. Sconces are placed along the walls and equal intervals, also with red candles in them which are lit. It is designed so the red wax will very possibly drip down on someone standing too close. Hanging from the ceiling on either side of the altar are thuribles from which incense is softly drifting. For mass simple benches have been arranged, the front row has rich red cushions on it, but the others are bare and look pretty uncomfortable.
