Temple of Mafdet

The Outside
Located on the edge of Panthersville, the temple is nearly impossible to see from the outside. A large iron privacy fence surrounds the property, twisted and torn and disused. A thick copses of Trees rim the outskirts of the building, blighted and dying. From the outside it resembles a rather plain building, abandoned, burned and crumbling.
From the parking lot there is a path leading towards the "Front" of the temple gates which are made of sculpted marble, each door weighing perhaps 3 tons each. Each door bears the symbol of Mafdet the Runner. One of the doors lays on it's back, having fallen from the hinges, it is scorched and black, cracked and broken. The other door has burn marking all along it's bottom, cracks running up the length of it and sits ajar, unable to open.
The Courtyard
The Gates open into another world. Once possibly grand, the marble and decor is all burned and destroyed, the plants gone, the waterfall dried up. Animal corpses picked clean. What appear to be human bones rest near the once lush, now dry, pool of water. A feeling of death and darkness covers the courtyard, seeping into your very bones. The air seems almost colder here then the Georgia climate should warrant.
The path to the temple is cracked and broken, roots and weeds growing haphazardly from the ground below as if abandoned and unkempt for decades instead of months. Walking on the path sends chills up the spine, as if walking down the road to hell.
The Temple Proper
The temple proper rises 4' out of the courtyard. Broken fluted pillars rise up past the fallen roof they once supported, instead, the roof now sits open to the night, the sliding glass shatters, it's metal supports twisted and ruined. Trash, debris and broken chunks of marble lay strewn about before the beautiful 8' panther headed statue of the Egyptian goddess. The statue is the one thing in the temple that appears untouched, clean and new. No fire damage, no cracks. Around it lay the battered remains of another statue, left to crumble as worthless. You see the face of a panther, smashed and cracked at the foot of the larger 8' statue.
The Temple Halls
The building surrounding the courtyard is stripped bare of anything useful and instead a burned out husk. Crumbling walls lead directly outside and the ceilings, where not collaps entirely, sag and droop. The few walls that remain are twisted and warped, with the same horrible signs of fire that the rest of the place displays.
Treasure room
A stone door lays broken and burned, shattered by the heat of fire, anyone brave enough to head into the depths finds themselves in an entirely blacked room, the roof caved in near the back, open directly back into the courtyard...if you can jump the requisite 8 feet to get there. Down here, the chill that permeates through the temple is deeper and colder. More human remains rest in the corner of this room, unburned and fresh looking, flies and the stench of rot fills this area.
