Located just 25 minutes outside of the heart of Atlanta, the Stately Oaks Plantation was south enough to avoid Sherman's devastating March to the Sea and thus remains one of the few pre-Civil War era constructions left in the Atlanta area.

The house was originally built in 1839 and has undergone restoration since then. It was used as the model for Tara, the home of the famous Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With the Wind, a novel concerning the period of Reconstruction following the Civil War.

The Party

The house is decorated in all it's Civil War glory just like it always is, however tonight the chandeliers are extra sparkling and fresh flowers abound. There are liveried waiters and waitresses carrying around trays of champagne flutes filled with Lacrima for guests to partake from. A string quartet is arranged at the far end of the ballroom of the house.
