A Skald is a modern day bard for the Circle of the Crone. While they have no real position of authority they do have an important role within the Covenent. As varied as the beliefs are within the Circle they can (for the most part) be classified as the belief in a mythology. It is this that the Skald imparts, acting as a story teller and poet, relying the histories of the Gods that the Crones worship.

In that the Skald is the relayer of stories it can also be said that she acts as a court jester, using the stories of the Gods and their followers as sharp allegories with the sole purpose of teaching an Acolyte a lesson. The Skald can also operate as a messenger, moving between coiteries and cities.

Skalds have also gone by the titles of Awenyddion, Bards or Rhapsodes.
