Overview
This is a quick guide to some of the site features you'll find on Suspire.org. In recent months we've added a number of features, and this is an attempt to help all our players (new and old) figure out just what information has been changed and added. This guide deals primarily with the sidebar, sheet and other information about your CHARACTER that can be found, but will briefly explain other sections of the site as well.
The top navigation bar
I will be keeping this section brief and go over just a few of the highlighted points and general overview of each of these sections.
Starting & Creation
Very simply, this section includes most all of the information you need to get yourself registered, and a broad overview of the rules. It /does not/ go into the House rules a starting player will need to be aware of. All players should probably review this section before each new character they create, since any rule changes about creation will show up here. (Such as the new embrace rewards).
In addition to this, players will find the commands for the bots used in the game, a handy guide for new players, and a outline of how our experience system works - including an explanation of our house-ruled method of gaining virtual experience points.
House Rules
Pretty self explanatory really, this section includes or links all House ruled information on Suspire.org, including full write-ups for those merits which were revamped completely (such as Allies) or created by Suspire.org (such as Domain, we know, there is a Domain merit in the Damnation City book, but we had ours first >:( ) In addition this section covers all the approved equipment for our game as well as notations on setting specific things that influence equipment, such as black market values and gun registrations.
Setting Information
Again, self explanatory. It includes the domain map and the status listings, which are the 2 links you will use most often. People will also find the Sites section, which is very helpful as it explains the rules of the Sites that we've chosen to put in game. (it's similar but changed from the Damnation City rules on Sites, so read it through and check it out!) New players should not forget the "Kindred History" section listed here, as that can also be very helpful for creating a character rising from torpor (although there are a limited number of these, so be sure to check with an ST first). In addition to this, there is a link to the in depth description of our city Las Vegas and a lexicon specifically edited for our game.
Site Supplemental
This section includes links to the Forums, the Journals and the Wiki. It also has a /very/ useful page which lists each active character and their player's forum user name which is uber useful for sending forum PM's.
Other & Miscellaneous
This is where you download the toolkit if you want it (it's a bit out of date atm, I know), the wallpapers, or read site rules and such.
Sidebars
This is essentially the basics of your character at a glance. We'll walk through all the sections and the information you'll find in each and a few things to watch for. There is the Left Sidebar and the Right Sidebar, we'll look at each of these.
Right Sidebar
Current Character
- First line has your characters name as it appears in the system.
- The 2nd line has 3 links. The first provides a "pop-up" view of your characters sheet. The 2nd provides your characters sheet in the main site window and the 3rd allows for a .txt download of your sheet to store locally, backup, fiddle with for XP planning, etc.
- The 3rd line has 2 links, your description, and your quick notes, or personal notes. Both of these allow you to edit your characters description and keep track of information in your personal notes section. Things to keep track of here include: rolls you've made toward an extended roll (you do still need to do the roll for an ST, but keeping track of the rolls is very helpful), phone numbers or addresses you have gathered, channels you've found or people you've PTed on. Obviously you can store anything here.
- Next up is the Extended Quick Stats. The page that this links to will get it's own section.
- Last is old characters. Here you can view the sheets of old characters until they have been deleted from the database.
Quick Stats
Most of these are pretty self explanatory, but I'll go through them anyway.
- Current Vitae. The number on the left is how much you have, the number on the right is your maximum vitae pool. If the number on the left is yellow, you are nearing frenzy range. If the number on the left is red, you are in frenzy range, and are probably in trouble.
- Current WP. Same deal as above, only without color codes. Left is current, right is max. Simple.
- [Optional] That is your current Herd pool. If you have /any/ herd at all, it will show up, if you have 0 herd max, this section will not appear. Same deal as above, left number is current, right is max herd.
- [Optional] Vampires have this section, ghouls do not. It's your "minimum hunting success" section and also lists your current hunting domain. The number you see is how many successes your hunting roll has to get for you to get any blood. Obviously the higher the number, the worse off you are. If the number is red, it means you are above your normal "minimum success" number. If it's green, then it's below your normal number. The place listed here is the place you are hunting, period. If you want to hunt somewhere else, click on "Site" under your characters name to pull up your Site sheet, and change the feeding location that you are hunting in from there. The sidebar will reflect the change.
- [Optional] Health Chart. If you have damage, this spot will fill in with a small version of the Health Chart on your sheet. A constant reminder that your body isn't whole. Obviously to fix this, you use the !heal commands that you find on the commands page.
- [Optional] Ally uses. This is a link you can click to display the number of uses you have for each ally type for each of the 4 sections (Regular, NPC, Domain, Ascendancy). Again, left number is current uses, right is maximum. If a number is red, then you are out of uses of that type.
- [Optional] Domain uses. Same thing as allies, only for domains. Lists each of the domains you have the merit for, and how many uses for each one you have.
Extended Character Info
We go into detail about what's here a little further down in this guide. Keep reading. :)
IC Messenger
This button will take you to a page where you can select individual characters and send voicemails/text messages/letters and notes to. It's for in character things. These are logged.
OOC Mass Mail
This is for out of character notes. These are logged.
Left Sidebar
IC Events
A simple section, this will show you IC events that pertain to your character. Events can be based on a persons Clan, Covenant, All Kindred, or All Kindred and Ghouls. The timer is basically telling you how long until the event starts. All times are in server time. If you want to have an event added to the list, come into #gamehelp and let us know and we can add it.
Retainers
This area lists each of your retainers whether animal or human and their ID number. You can hover your mouse over each one to see their quick stats. It'll tell you their number of vitae, willpower, and when you need to provide their monthly maintenance.
Masquerade Heat
This is a gauge to help players understand the current Masquerade status in the city. If it's low, life is good, suspicion is down, humans aren't watching the shadows quite so hard for monsters lurking in the dark. If it's high, the masquerade is straining itself and if it turns red, bad things start to occur, such as Hunters, feeding penalties, ect.
Center Information
Recent Forum Topics
Again, pretty self explanatory, just the last 3 forum topics that were posted on. Nice for keeping up with the Joneses yo.
Recent Wiki Changes
See above, only with wiki stuff instead of forum stuff.
Recent Journal Changes
See above, only with Journals instead of forum stuff.
Extended Character Information Page
This is a page that has like, oodles of info about your character. Seriously, all kinds of crap. The more you do, the more it fills up! Below is a list of all the things you'll see on your ECI page.
Experience Points Section
Personal History of XP Claims
This section shows you how much XP you have received for the last like, 10 weeks or something. Also shows total and spent.

Your Resource Activity
Base Expense Dots
This section shows your current expense dots, as well as the amount of expense dots you'll gain monthly. In addition to that it shows any special expense dots you get from things such as being an Eminent Ventrue or being Invictus.
Temporary Expense Dots
This section shows any expense dots you have in a temporary pool, that is any you've given or received from other characters.
Extended Expense Dot Changes
This section shows reoccurring payments either to or from your character that you've set up to happen on an automatic basis. This is handy for things such as Rent or Business Profits.
Your Living and Hunting Details
In this section you are able to choose where you would like to hunt, how you would like to hunt and on what you would like to hunt.
Basic Information
This section shows where your current haven is, as well as any specific details about your haven such as security, paper trails, or if it's a group haven. If you do have a group haven, it has a pop up for details about that as well. This section should contain every thing you could ever want to know about your haven. It also has a section for hunting which allows you to select a hunting area, method, prey and if you play to hunt secretly or not. You can change this at any time.
Last Hunts in 7 Days
This allows you to review your last seven hunts, where you hunted, if it was secret or not and how much blood you gained.
Sites Bonus & Activity
Selecting a Site
From the drop down menu you'll select a site. It'll open a stats box where you can see the details of the site, including a link to the Suspire Wiki page that explains the bonus of having influence at that location. You'll select the site you want by clicking "Add to Quick Sites Roll List" and then you'll have a box appear to the right that lists your downtime and any other sites you may want to add to this list.
Rolling a Site
The button that says "Roll" will obviously roll your dice for this. Oh, you may be wondering what dice pool you're using for a particular site! You can find this information by clicking the name of the site that appears beside the X and Roll!
Once you have clicked roll you will be able to see who else is influencing this site, and in case it isn't perfectly clear, "Other individuals at this site" is IC knowledge.
Winning!
Last but certainly not least, "winning" for the week. You'll know if you won by Sunday at 5am server time. You'll see green text appear at the bottom of your sites box that says "Congratulations, you have the benefit for this Site available to you!" Sites roll over on Sunday, so you'll need to re-roll your sites every week to receive those benefits.
