Daddy's Lil Monster

We sometimes observe that spoiled children contract a habit of annoying quite wantonly those who have charge of them, and seem to measure their own sense of well-being, not by what they do, but by the degree of reaction they can cause.

It is vain to get rid of them by not minding them: if purring and humming is not noticed, they squeal and screech; then if you chide and console them, they find the experiment succeeds, and they begin a nothing.

If you take a book and read, she commences hostile operations.

Mortal Life

Nicole & Seri, Toddlers

Nicole & Seri, Toddlers

Only five minutes separated Serianna from her older fraternal twin Nicolette, but that was more than enough time to create a deep-rooted jealousy that plagues the sisters. The sisters shared very few things but, and aside from their silky blonde hair, a snobby upper-middle class upbringing, and continuous fighting they were nearly polar opposites in personality and goal. The neighborhood, schools, and their parents were much better off when the sisters were at battle with each other. The only thing more vicious than the girls waging war against one another was when their devious plans were focused onto something, or even less fortunate, someone. Being educated at King of Glory Methodist Church and school from kindergarten through graduation proved only to spur their creativity, as they found ways to plan and execute their schemes without being caught by the strict authority and schedule of the strict teachers.

Nicole and Seri were not always rotten company, and they were often very pleasant when separated; showing their brilliant talents and eloquent manners. Nicole and Seri's parent's learned quickly to keep their children apart, and it didn't take the officials at their school to realize the merit in them being separated as well. This boded well for the girls, because they were allowed to spend most of their time with their favorite parents, teacher, and friends without having to worry about the other sister stealing the spot light. Nicole was their mother's favorite, and she was showered with affection; while Seri was their father's favorite, and was often gifted things. Both girls were often flaunted and compared to their parent's friend's children, because their parents ran in well educated and wealthy circles where such things were done with beautiful and talented children.

Most of their scuffles ended quickly, either forced by some common enemy or the punishments of their parents; which from an early age Seri claimed always favored Nicole. It wasn't until their adolescent and teen years that the girl's differences and similarities drove a wedge between them. As they had competed for all things their entire life it proved no different when chasing boys, and who better than the senior athletic star. Nicole and Seri both fell for the same boy, Kevin Zumwalt. He was several years their senior and both girls vied for his attention, but Kevin was like most older boys and knew how to play both of the girls, and play them well is exactly what he did. Kevin escorted Seri to the Valentine's Sweetheart dance, but it was Nicole that was invited to the prom. As expected Seri through a tantrum, and did everything in her power to make sure that neither Kevin nor Nicole would be allowed to the prom. She went as far to plant paraphernalia in her sister's locker to try to get her grounded or expelled, but her attempts failed; and that night changed their relationship forever.

Like most religious schools, the after-prom was a joke. Kevin and Nicole wouldn't be going to something so juvenile. Hoping from party to party and avoiding road blocks and police right and left Kevin and Nicole made their rounds to all the important places and all the beautiful people. It was finally 2 A.M. when they decided to call it a night. The intentions of the two at this point were obvious. They were young, drunk, and horny. Getting back to Kevin's place as quick as possibly as the only objective, but the large willow tree just at the entrance to Kevin's drive had other plans. Kevin was ejected from the car, and if for some 'unknown' reason Nicole wouldn't have had her head lowered into the middle console area, she would have been as well. Kevin died that night, from the wounds inflicted to his limbs as he was forced through the glass and the injury to his neck and head. Nicole left the hospital a few days later, with nothing more than several bruises. But her sisters hatred and wishes that Nicole was dead instead of Kevin would be a scar that Nicole would carry with her always after that night.

From that point on Seri made Nicole miserable, and the simple fact that Nicole was still alive made life the same for Seri. It wasn't hard for Seri to drive all of Nicole friends away. Games, threats, their parent's shame, and in some cases torture of Nicole closest friends, left Nicole with nothing more than her guilt ridden thoughts to keep her company. After a time Nicole tried to allow another boy back into her life, but Seri had become talented in seducing them away, chasing them off, or causing so much embarrassment that they fled on their own. Every job or internship that Nicole was prospected for was swept away from her by Seri's callous manipulation. It was this 'game' that the girls were playing that would get out of hand, bringing them to the attention of something far more wicked, calculating, and corrupting.

They had just celebrated their twenty-first birthday when they found a real reprieve from each others grasp. The sisters started hopping from bar to bar as much as possible, and Seri found herself falling into the sorta crowd her parents wouldn't of approved of. The club and bar scene made it easy for them to escape one another, but it also led to Seri's most dangerous mistake. Seri was infuriated that Nicole was happy, happy every time they saw that man at the same bars and clubs. He wasn't always there, but Seri knew that's why Nicole wanted to go to that club. If she didn't see Ryan Fairmonte there she would be ready to leave, or just seem bored; but when he was there Seri found Nicole to be annoyingly flirtatious and joyful. Seri couldn't threaten or manipulate this man away, he proved to be far to ignorant to realize exactly what is was Seri was doing. When force had failed, seduction proved to be equally useless; which caused her to become even more hostile and angry, since it was the approach she least preferred to use but until then had always been a sure thing.

Seri was loosing patience and was trying not to fall back on her usual methods of torment. She knew from looking back on her last few 'victims' that she was getting dangerously close to crossing the line, but what line she wasn't exactly sure. Granted, she only noticed after the fact, how close she was to doing something truly horrible. Ryan Fairmonte was trouble, he was head over heals for Nicole, but Seri couldn't let Nicole be happy if she herself wasn't; so this had to be stopped. It was only time before Seri managed to get Ryan away from prying eyes and ears and started tormenting him. Unfortunately for Ryan, he displayed too much resolve and adoration to be swayed from Nicole. Seri, in her anger, snapped and killed him.

Seri's actions weren't nearly as secluded and private as she had thought while she scurried about trying to decide how she would dispose of the body and the evidence. In her blood rage she found the first solution that presented itself, the log axe that was leaning against the back shed, that would work nicely. Ryan was far to big for Seri to carry him herself, but she could manage smaller pieces. Seri hacked Ryan into several smaller pieces, putting him in a box and attempted to burn him out of existence. As she lite the blaze she heard an unfamiliar rustle at the edge of the property, and for some reason she instantly felt uncomfortable. In ending Ryan's life she had sealed the fate of her and her sister, she just didn't know it. Seri never believed in monsters, but that was a mistake, because Landon Merrick believed in her.

Requiem

1975 - 1978

Seri was just 21 when she caught Landon Merrick's eye, she was not aware that he had been watching her, watching her chase people out of her sisters life, or that her poorly planned disposal of Ryan's Body had sealed her fate, as well as Nicolette's.

1975, October 1: Are you afraid, afraid of the truth, in the mirror staring back at you. The image is cracked, but so is the view. Landon’s words were barely audible over the gasps the girl was taking to try to breathe. He was holding her firmly around the neck, lifting her off the ground in front of the full body mirror so she could watch her fate. Such a strange path of events that had led to this young woman’s current situation, but like most things in life, it was entirely beyond her control. A smile slowly flickered across Landon’s lips as he thought of an old saying he actually hadn’t heard in years, 'nothing matters so much as blood.' A family heirloom signifying the importance for trusting and relying on your family, yet in all his decades Landon had come to discover the perverse irony of that saying. Nothing matters so much as blood, he was going to take all of hers, just as he had her sister who was lying on the bed behind them, and by giving her his blood he’d make them his family; because nothing matters so much as blood.

Seri and Nicole followed Landon into the Crone, and joined the chorus shortly after their embrace. Seri took instantly to the Annunaki devotion, learning of its Gods with an interest nothing in life had ever stirred. She threw herself into studying the Gods, and started learning Cruac from Landon.

1978 - 1988

Seri mastered her first ritual with cruac in 1985, Landon had been pleased with her, and she reveled in this. She was starting to go out and about more without Landon about this time, and while she loved the new found freedom, she was probably not as ready for it as Landon had hoped. After messing up her own introduction several times to prominent people, Landon punished her, when the word got around to him. Seri saw this as him favoring her sister, and lashed out at Landon. Using her only ritual against her sire was a mistake Seri never made again. Landon refused to continue to teach her unless she willingly submitted to a harsher punishment than he had ever given her. Used to being spoiled and used to getting her way Seri refused at first, but the desire to learn more and the need to be back in her sire's favor won out, and Seri reported to Seraphina for her punishment a few months later.

1988 - 1998

Seri followed Landon and assisted him in disposing of the corrupt hierophant

1998 - 2008

Seri is still clinging to the last vestiges of the old wars, her hatred for the Lancea Sanctum and the Carthians has not abated as the turmoil died down, and she has yet to see a reason to forgive them. She stays cordial with the Invictus, at least the members her sire is cordial with, and has a mild indifference to the Ordo Dracul, well mild indifference to everyone but Vander Corvus with whom she has developed a long standing chivalrous rivalry with. While neither party is openly hostile towards each other, they are not friendly either. Seri is often found were ever her sire is, and usually worships along side him. She makes no attempt to behave where her sister is concerned, their rivalry running too deep and too long, unless Landon silences their bickering. She has never been much for listening to Ivy Jane Carroll but while there is no devotion, there is no hate either. Serianna's attitude went unreigned when Landon went missing. She mounted a search for him and her sister, but it was not until Ivy and Corvus disapeared for anyone to listen to her. She went back to the group haven to find the vampires gone, and her fathers ghouls turned into drougers. It was a near escape for her, but it did nothing to change her attitude. When her attempts to get action taken went mostly ignored, Seri turned even more hostile.
