Description

Billing itself as Atlanta’s premiere and most sophisticated lounge, the Scarlet Mansion plays host to the high-rolling bachelors, high-class escorts and similarly-minded clientel. While it would bill itself to interested parties as the best of the best in Atlanta, it doesn’t fall entirely short of that.

The external parking lot is very well-lit, and fenced in by security fences with it’s own private security guard patrolling the isles of expensive cars, SUVs and supercars to guard against hooligans. With a top-notch security system, rarely are there incidents at the outside area; criminals generally don’t feel a jaguar is worth the hassle, when they can just get one down the street – it is Buckhead after all.

Once inside, and the wait outside is often an irritating one for those who don’t fit the bill (or just don’t strike the fancy of the bouncers enough), one is overwhelmed with the namesake of the place – everything is plush red. The walls are red, the tile floors are of dark red marble, the bartop is similarly red marble, the wood of the underneath is dark cherry wood. Everything, from the couches to the pillows, is red. When there isn’t red, it’s almost always black or translucent, so it almost looks red as well.

The whole place is almost unfathomly clean – a stark contrast from the rest of the city – spills are spotless within moments, the high-rolling (and often famous) cliental are waited on promptly, but not overbearingly.

All this is not without it’s faults, though, with money comes high-grade drugs. While there are rumors that the Atlanta police are bought off from bothering with the place, the bathrooms flourish from activity. It would be outrageously uncommon to walk into one of the glitzy bathrooms and not see someone with cocaine, and in the men’s bathroom, two pairs of legs in one closed stall.

Benefits

All Visitors

People go to the Scarlet Mansion, in general, to see and be seen. Characters with Striking Looks can expect to gain more notice (which is both bad and good) and gain an additional +1 dice on appropriate rolls that Striking Looks would normally apply to when dealing with mortals.

Minor

As a regular and frequent visitor to the establishment, you’ve grown more accustomed to the comings and goings of the dusk-till-dawn lounge. You have no real trouble with the bouncers, and they recognize you out of the filtering as someone who patronizes their establishment. Thus, you have no trouble convincing bouncers generally to have someone seen out who might be... unseemly and tarnishing their place’s reputation.

+1 Socialize; Gain Bouncer assistance for removing someone for a night from the establishment (unless they’re also a “regular”)

Sizable

You can almost always tell when there’s going to be – or are planning for – a celebrity visit, and you can feed upon the excitement (literally) even if there isn’t one scheduled for another couple of nights. Not only that, but the upper-offices and the night-manager (Joan Parker-Boston) recognize you out of a crowd for the better. You can always expect to get the special treatment, and benefit of the doubt within the establishment, even if it’s just suggesting that someone may not, or should not, be allowed inside.

+2 Socialize, +1 Persuasion; Gain Bouncer assistance for removing someone from the establishment (unless they’re also a “regular”) permanently, unless they get themselves removed from the blacklist or possess the Barfly merit

Uncontested

Maybe you’ve fucked Parker-Boston, maybe you’ve just been a fixture for so long that everyone knows you, or maybe you’re just in good with the execs and higher ups that you can drop the name “Lowell” and everyone leaves you be or falls all over themselves trying to help you. Either way, there’s hardly anyone in the establishment in the know that’d dare to tick you off. You can expect the highest quality of service from the place and get it, no questions asked. You don’t pay for drinks, you’re a high-roller, you’re who they want in their establishment.

+2 Socialize, +1 Intimidation, +1 Persuasion, +1 Subterfuge; Gain Bouncer assistance for removing someone from the establishment permanently, unless they get themselves removed from the blacklist or possess the Barfly merit; +1 Fame (Atlanta Society)
