Sacramento
Sacramento for Kindred is a very, very bloody town. Not in the state of wars, but because it is home to the major cults in the the Hold of Tomesha Valley. The natural layout of the city and it’s outlying areas allows for many out-of-the-way places where the cults can have their rites without attracting the attention of mortals. Those who come to the city find that while the Acolytes have a stranglehold of power, they also are somewhat erratic in their interests, leading that there is quite the opportunity to work within their chaotic system. The only sort of Kindred who don’t find the city of Sacramento to their liking are the Kindred who find it hard to swallow the number one import for Kindred Black-Market magicians: trafficking animals of all shapes and sizes and people. Sometimes rumors creep out into the Hold that Kindred sometimes disappear here for the traffickers too, but most wave those off... After all, Sacramento’s never been investigated for such a thing.

Circle of the Crone Belief
The main cult in Sacramento worships a Minoan derived goddess known as Potnia Theia, or “Lady of the Divine”, which is typically represented as a woman holding a snake in each hand. Over the years the goddess worshipped has taken her own distinctly Acolyte form and is known now as the Mother of Monsters, with the Hierophant as her divine manifestation on earth. The Snake cult, as non-cultists call it, worships mainly through oral tradition storytelling making the position of Skald somewhat important in the city. Other popular rites include divination rites, which the cult holds in high esteem, and rites asking for Potnia Theia’s favor. The cult rarely sacrifices mortals or other Kindred, preferring to limit their offerings to their own vitae and the animals that please the goddess.
