The Area

Named after a very plainly named creek that runs down through the area on it's south border to the Chesapeake, Running Creek is the best choice of an area to send one's children if living in other areas of the city is out of the question. Perennially the football favorites in high school ball, Running Creek High School has won state championships at least twice out of every five years for the past twenty years.

In Running Creek, you love football and veterans of the military or else. The pressure this sort of thing puts on the high schoolers is massive. Many scouts of talent make Running Creek High School one of their first stops in Virginia, the program is that good. There have been doping allegations from "lesser" programs, of course, but so far nothing has come through. Many of the new money millionaires and hometown sports stars have come from Running Creek High, making it the premiere sports school in the area.

Other than that, though, the area really only has the military base to fill in the gaps. The base, which specializes in disease control and prevention (similar to the CDC, but much smaller), has been in the area since it was created for World War 1 to train soldiers on chemical and disease weapons. On football nights, military showing up for the game are always given a traditional round of applause just after the national anthem. Then, and only then, may the game start.
