Description

A plain-front building with a half-burnt out huge-lettered P A W N S H O P covering the front of the roof, Roy's MegaPawn strikes the cord as tacky and one of the things that is all too common in the South Las Vegas areas, particularly the space along the Boulder Strip. Outside, tied up with a rusty, thick chain, generators, bicycles, lawn mowers and anything else that isn’t necessarily going to be too hurt by the weather take up two parking spots in the 6 spot parking area.

A junker pickup truck is always parked out front, with a tag of “For Sale” though it’s obviously regularly driven and used. Once inside, the musty smell of “old” and “used” hits like a brick wall. There’s some jewelry cases, sure, but by far the place is filled with tools, knick-knacks, CDs and DVDs, guns and knives.

The shop is tended by a hawknosed man by the name of Roy, who has a dirty look to him, though closer inspection denotes it's just from hours in the scorching desert sun, or perhaps a slight skin disfigurement. He is helpful enough, but his voice reminds anyone who hears him of one of those sleezy car salesman, too overly loud and boasting, even if he doesn't mean to be. He simply seems to try too hard with everyone he meets.

Benefits

Desperate Money. In Vegas money slips through fingers faster than water. Roy’s made a profession of being quick to slip more crisp bills into grasping fingers, at a cost, of course. He doesn’t limit payment to usual means but instead takes any thing people are willing to trade for money - trinkets, cars, even deeds to condos. Roy doesn’t have many friends, so he doesn’t mind using bribery to keep the ones he has, thus being Roy’s friend carries hefty benefits.
