Description

A plain-front building with a half-burnt out huge-lettered P A W N S H O P covering the front of the roof, Robert’s Cool Pawn strikes the cord as tacky and one of the things that is all too common in Decatur. Outside, tied up with a rusty, thick chain, generators, bicycles, lawn mowers and anything else that isn’t necessarily going to be too hurt by the weather take up two parking spots in the 6 spot parking area.

A junker pickup truck is always parked out front, with a tag of “For Sale” though it’s obviously regularly driven and used. Once inside, the musty smell of “old” and “used” hits like a brick wall. There’s some jewelry cases, sure, but by far the place is filled with tools, knick-knacks, CDs and DVDs, guns and knives.

While there’s no one in sight named Robert, there is usually a woman named Nadeen and a man named Asreal, both of middle-eastern descent, there to run the store in the night-time hours. Both look wary, especially if the characters are “shady” looking or they get that vibe – and characters can always get the feel that they’re just hoping they don’t have to reach for that loaded weapon they always have nearby.

Nadeen and Asreal look forward to your visits now and are more than agreeable with you. They’ll chat about their nights with you, and tell you if they expect any different types of things in. But more importantly, you find that they’re members of a local neighborhood coalition – people who keep eyes and ears out for burglars and gangbangers and meet with local police occasionally. This can be particularly dangerous information (for them) for you to know, so you’ll be utterly sworn not to tell anyone.

Uncontested

You’ve gotten in so well with the pair that they’ve told some of their friends in the neighborhood coalition about you. This is particularly helpful for you, as these other people handle other businesses in the area, and they are often just as welcome as the pair is to you – a rare thing indeed for the World of Darkness.
