The Principia Draconis are the three rules that bind the Ordo Dracul together. Individual methodologies may vary, but in the end what is considered paramount is one's following of the Principia--they serve not only as guidelines, but as definitions of a good Dragon. They are deemed to have been set down by Dracula himself, and to go against them would have serious political and social consequences within the covenant.
First, a Dragon has no loyalty above his studies. Matters of city politics, clan, and even the covenant itself come secondary to the thirst for transcendence.
Second, a Dragon must understand, accept, and embrace personal change. Change is the bedrock of the covenant's work, and without it and an understanding of it, no progress may occur.
Third, a Dragon is responsible for all he is and all he does. One may not accept one's shortcomings as "inherent to one's nature"; instead, one must take total control over one's being--whether one's own words and deeds in the city, or the siren call of frenzy and the lure of the daysleep.
