Location: South Beach (Boomerang Way) Predatory Taint: +2
Atmosphere: Welcoming
Welcoming locations are both more active than Accepting locations and more mercurial. Likely environments include underground raves, meetings of secret societies, impromptu drum circles, biker gatherings, and the like. Some places, which require either an invitation or some secret information to find, assume that those who are there share some common interest, ideal, or understanding, and therefore are places where one’s guard can be lowered. Others, whether due to naïveté or an impressive amount of faith and trust in humanity, simply happily welcome any who find them. Both environments, however, can turn ugly very quickly when the most meager of slights is committed. Whether an accidental signal that tells others that the outsider isn’t supposed to be there or a taboo behavior or simply ruining the party, all such acts are punishable with snubbing, expulsion, mockery, or even attack depending on the mood and lifestyle of those present.
Exterior
The old one story house is nestled in a small area of houses in South Beach where the owners have stood firm from the expanding companies and industries in the area from taking what little they had left. The various houses on the street are in widely, not too well diverse levels of care from not well kept and taken care of to extremely not well cared for. During the day, the area surrounding the series of houses may be bustling, with traffic mainly being that of trucks shipping various thing, but at night it's virtually lifeless and silent.
This somewhat small house in particular is one of the semi better quality of houses on the street, although low quality at that. The house is fairly rundown from many years of wear and tear and age, but it looks as if some recent effort was put towards slightly renovating it. It seems to of been built some time ago, the exact decade where it was built can't be told. It's most likely due to the many renovations that have occurred over the years to the point if payed attention to closely, it seems to be a Frankenstein house of sorts. Though, if not necessarily looking for the qualities, it would easily be overlooked. Whatever the case may be, the owner seems to wish to hold their ground with the others of the street and does not appear to be moving anytime soon.
Interior
When first walking in it seems the house is like any other normal house, only somewhat smaller, but the layout makes it so things are not cramped. The house is relatively modest with lightly painted walls and overall very clean. Although from the outside it appears there's only curtains covering the windows, from the inside the windows are actually covered it is impossible to look through them. The decoration of the house seems limited with a plant here and a decorative painting there, nothing stands out unless you intentionally look for it.
The first thing seen is the area that would normally be the living room has been turned into a sitting area with a couch and two armchairs. and library with bookcases lining the walls and covering a few windows. In a separate room from the kitchen, the dining room contains a long table that doesn't look like it was meant for eating on with 6 chairs lining it and 2 more on each end. Walking down a hallway leads to another hallway with 5 doors. The door on the very end leads to the garage that contains a few tools and useful add additives, but nothing special. The remaining doors lead to a bathroom, one bedroom with a bed, side table and dresser and not too much else, a meditation room and a room that has been converted to a laboratory with the full conversion of tiles, lab utensils, some medical equipment and a somewhat large fridge.
