Nekros, Level 2 Ritual

Reference: Suspire.org

Description

With a small portion of her blood, a Disciple can cause a small, mobile piece of a dead body to break free from the rest of the corpse and move around under it’s own power once a disciple sews an eye from the same corpse onto the part to be made animate. Generally, a disciple animates a hand, but this has been used on less unsavory pieces to make the rounds.

The animated part has a mystical ability to hear and see, it hides extremely well, it moves rapidly and has a slight bit of it’s own intellect. When it is within a 500 yards of the vampire, the servant can communicate what it sees and hears with the vampire that created it, via a rough sort of telepathy that the caster can control as if he were using his own body part or controlling with their own hands. The servant is intelligent enough to understand simple spoken or telepathic commands (via the rough link that bonds the part and caster), but it lacks initiative, a failing that is particularly obvious when it is out of the vampire’s sphere of control. The servant cannot carry anything, but jewelry or other very small objects might be attached to it.

System

The vampire drips her vitae onto the appropriate piece of the corpse. With success, the part becomes an animated creature with the statistics listed below.

The creature is totally obedient to it’s master, and it utterly ignores other orders or requests. It can communicate with and be controlled by it’s master as long as it does not go further than 500 yards from it (roughly a quarter-mile’s distance). However, if it does, it will follow the most recent instructions given to it by it’s master to the best of it’s ability and then sit there, lolling about to and fro as it’s limited intellect keeps it from deciding what it should do next until it hears from it’s master again.

The servant can remain active for as many nights as the caster has dots in Nekros. If the player spends vitae once again and re-rolls the ritual at the end of this duration, he can extend the “lifespan” of the servant for a further tenure - the mystical properties of Nekros will keep it from rotting until the vampire stops tending to it. The servant can be killed just like any other creature in combat and does not gain a vampire’s resistance to bashing damage.

Creature stats, regardless of piece used:

Attributes:
Intelligence 1, Wits 2, Resolve 1,
Strength 1, Dexterity 5, Stamina 3,
Presence 2, Manipulation 1, Composure 2

Skills:
Athletics 2, Crafts 1, Investigation 3, Stealth 3

Willpower: 3
Initiative: 7
Speed: 12
Size: 1
Health: 4

Attacks:
Type Damage Dice Pool
Throttle or Strangle 2(B) 2

A dramatic failure on the creation of the creature makes the entire cadaver unsuitable for any sort of rituals, including ones that cause the rapid decomposition of it as the mystical properties have been sapped away.
