Mortal Life

(While it shouldn't be necessary, it should be noted that the following information is out of character (ooc) information unless you have a legitimate, in character (ic), reason for knowing or these events.)

1986

Persephone Ann Raithe is born on April 13 to Pastor Stephen Raithe and his wife Marigold in Augusta, Georgia.

2002

Persephone, age 16, begins looking into the origins of her name. After being raised in a strict Christian household, she becomes involved with some occult study groups, and practices pagan religion casually. Her father discovers this and, in a violent argument, orders her out of his house. Persephone packs what little belongings she has and prepares to leave. Despite protests by her mother that she is loved and that it is just a phase she is going through, both father and daughter stand firm. Persephone moves to Atlanta with some friends.

2003

Adopting the nickname Percy, she and her friends become involved in a local gang. Random acts of violence and crime ensue. Percy begins slinging coke and heroin for the gang leader. Though she rarely fights, she comes to be known as one of the "toughest bitches" in the gang.

2004

Percy, now addicted to the same drugs she is slinging, becomes sexually involved with fellow gang member Johnny Adams. Troubles with a rival gang escalate.

2005

On February 24th, Percy finds out she is pregnant. Fearfully, she approaches and informs Johnny of the pregnancy. To her surprise Johnny asks her to move in with him and helps her get off the drugs. On June 3, two members of a rival gang break into Johnny's apartment. They shoot Johnny several times, killing him almost instantly. The gunman then shoots Percy four times; twice in the stomach, once in the left shoulder, and once just under the ribs on her right side. They leave her for dead and flee.

Waking up in the hospital to learn that the baby was killed, Percy goes into a rage. Checking herself out after only two days, she went looking for the men who had killed her baby. Finding one of them, she shot him dead in a fit of rage and revenge. His death was later attributed to gang violence. Later that week she learned that the guy who had actually pulled the trigger had been stopped on a minor traffic violation. Due to possession of an unlicensed firearm and the proceeding investigation, he was charged with several counts of murder and aggravated assault with intent to commit murder. He was sentenced to 25 to Life. Percy still waits for the day when he gets out, not sure what she will do.

2006

Realizing that she had gotten away with murder, however justified, Percy decides to get her life back on track. She remains in contact with some of her ex gang members, as well as her good friend who remains tied to the gang. Still wary of police, but wanting to help people, Percy enrolls in a local community college to become a Private Detective. It is here that she meets several police officers and other Law Enforcement officials. One of these men develops a crush on her, and they become fast friends, occasionally with benefits but nothing serious.

On June 14, Percy receives a call from her mother's lawyer. She learns that her mother had left her father in 2003, and moved to Atlanta to search for Percy. When asked if she could contact her mother, the lawyer informs Percy that her mother had passed away two days before from cancer, and that Percy would need to sign some paperwork before the inheritance would transfer to her name.

Her mother had set up a trust for her, and left her the home she had purchased in Druid Hills. By August the paperwork is settled. Percy moves into her new home and receives a monthly allowance from her trust fund. Using some of the life insurance money and some of the money from the trust, Percy installs secure doors, upgrades the locks, and has a panic room installed in the basement. In her depression and anger at her mother's death, Percy becomes a bit paranoid.

A friend refers her to a local self-help group called The Pact. She attends monthly meetings, where she meets a woman who goes by the name Hildr. Participating in several rituals and self-affirmation workshops, she pulls out of her paranoia and depression.

2007

Still in school, Percy continues to attend The Pact meetings monthly. It isn't long before she develops an emotional bond to Hildr. On December 6, 2007 at a private session in Hildr's home, she is embraced and brought into the kindred world.

Requiem

Two nights after her Embrace, Percy meets her first other kindred. It is while observing these kindred at the Howell House, a place known by the city's kindred as Elysium, that she learns of Hildr's mistake. Anthony of Themesis, Prince of Atlanta, declares a bloodhunt on Hildr for embracing Percy without permission. This is the final affront, it seems, in a series of mistakes made by Hildr. Percy is spared and given into the care of Eveline Carre, the Gangrel Clan Priscus.

Recently, Percy went into a sort of depression, and while she didn't go into torpor, she locked herself in her basement, and only came out occasionally to feed.

Having since come out of her funk, Percy is more determined than ever to make Eveline proud, and has vowed to continue her training both in mortal aptitude and in kindred society.
