Nosferatu

From SuspireWiki

Jump to: navigation, search
Stealthy and disturbing, the Nosferatu wield fear itself like a hunter’s blade. Their very presence unnerves people, whether by physical ugliness, foul stench or nebulous personal malignance. Nosferatu come from society’s castoffs, such as the homeless, the mentally ill and criminals. Haunts tend to be self-reliant individuals who actually manage their new condition.

Nickname: Haunts

Clan Disciplines: Nosferatu are masters of Nightmare, the vampiric Discipline of terror and phobia. Their weakness tends to make them rely on Obfuscate to counter their appearances when necessary. Their bodies are also able to utilize Vigor, a blood-granted supernatural strength.

Favored Attributes: Composure or Strength

Weakness: Nosferatu are cursed to be social pariahs, and their very presence is uncomfortable for others. This manifests in a myriad of ways, ranging from clear physical deformity to an indefinable aura of menace, passing through such things as a charnel odor or the undeniable manner of a predator. With regard to dice pools based on Presence or Manipulation Attributes in social situations, the 10-again rule does not apply.

House Rules

These were house ruled due to Nosferatu lack of penalties for clan weakness:

Empathy Checks

To check someone: Intelligence or Wits + Empathy or Investigation

Purposely concealing emotions: Presence or Manipulation + Subterfuge

Requested by StoryTellers: Even if your character is not lying and someone checks on you, you should roll your dice reflexively. It will keep characters (and players...) honest.

Lying Checks

Liar or person being checked: Presence or Manipulation + Subterfuge or Empathy + Applicable Status

To notice a lie: Wits + Empathy or Wits + Subterfuge or Investigation + Applicable Status

Requested by StoryTellers: Even if your character is not lying and someone checks on you, you should roll your dice reflexively. It will keep characters (and players...) honest.

Clan Eminence Information

When Noseratu are in eminence, the city takes on a much more blue collar feel. Naturally, the Nosferatu characters gain the benefit of this, and enjoy Street and Transportation Allies at 1. Additionally, Nosferatu are assumed to have free reign over the Sewer system and metro tunnels that happen to link to it which grants them +1 dice to feed on mortals, or +2 dice to feed on animals. The Prince, the Master of Elysium, nor anyone else can strip a Nosferatu of her final dot of City Status. The Prince can still call a Bloodhunt, however.
