Her Story
Morgan comes from a traditional Irish Catholic family. They lived in Boston for most of Morgan’s life – until she was 17. Her father got a new job in Atlanta, GA working for the university as a math professor, Morgan’s mother worked part-time as a substitute teacher at her high school to provide a more comfortable living for the family around the holidays. They went to church like clock work, never missing a service. Morgan was bored with her family, truthfully. There were lots of rules and restrictions, like she couldn’t date colored people, only a fine Irish Catholic boy would do for her parents. Her parents didn’t believe women had the same rights as men, even… and we’re in the fucking 21st century already. But when you’re raised in it, sometimes you don’t see the ridiculous things you let yourself go through. 9/11 happened when Morgan was a junior in High School. It shocked the nation and it shocked Morgan. She was outraged by the attack on America, but it wasn’t to be discussed at the dinner table. Except, of course, by her parents. Morgan wasn’t supposed to give her opinion. She was a fantastic student, sharp as a tack, but by the time she entered college she was ready for an adventure. She wanted to find herself and experience things that she was restricted from by her parents. Morgan stayed out late, began smoking, she drank a bit, but what really excited her was that she could open her mouth and say whatever she felt like saying.
Before she was due to graduate college she and her parents had a fight about her grades and what she had been doing with herself, and a tattoo. They felt like she should do what they said despite her being in college and she felt very different. Her parents ended up withdrawing their financial support and told her that if she wanted her own life to go get one.
Morgan never looked back.
She got herself a job at a coffee shop near the university, and rotated friend’s couches every few nights. There was an interesting coworker there who she called the Conspiracy Theorist. He was always talking to her about the war and attack on America on 9/11. The attack happened years ago, but Morgan found herself curious. Could the things he was saying be possible? This inspired Morgan; she read all that she could read about the latest information on 9/11, she watched documentaries and tried very hard to form her own opinion about what had happened. All of this research dramatically changed Morgan’s outlook on US government and democracy in general. The people who frequent the coffee shop are people she went to college with, and after discussing with them at length her theories and feelings behind it all; she launches an anti-war campaign which they participate in.
Simon was a frequent patron at the coffee shop. Morgan didn’t go to school with him, but she’d met him one night when she and her friends were discussing the campaign. Simon seemed really intrigued by Morgan and he sat with her even after everyone had left. They’ve spent a lot of time together over the last three weeks getting to know each other.
The Present
Morgan began persuing a place in the Ordo Dracul not long after her embrace. Despite her political career as a mortal, she found herself less interested in politics and far more interested in the mystery of the Kindred condition. After successfully completing an assignment handed to her by William Brookhurst, he determined that she would have to wait until she was released to attempt to join the Ordo Dracul. In the mean time, however, she should continue experimenting and documenting results.
She did as much. Even going as far as removing a finger just to confirm that it would regenerate. Morgan's sire, Simon Shea, was unimpressed with her interest in the Ordo Dracul, which caused a minor falling out between the two. Some speculate her interest in the Ordo Dracul was nothing short of a rebellious act. But truthfully, it goes much deeper than that.
Recently she's been accepted into the Ordo Dracul, and she's ever excited to begin her lessons!
