Description

Morehouse College is a private, all-male and historically black college; it is one of only four remaining traditional men’s colleges in the United States. It’s been ranked multiple times as the top school for blacks and in the top fifty for top schools. Morehouse is part of the Atlanta University Center along with Clark Atlanta University, Interdenominational Theological Center, Morehouse School of Medicine and Spelman College. Morehouse College has an enrollment of 3,000 students.

The college was founded two years after the civil war, in 1867, by William Jefferson White, an Augusta Baptist minister and cabinetmaker, Rev. Richard C. Coulter, a former slave, and the Rev. Edmund Turney, organizer of the National Theological Institute for educating freedmen in Washington, D.C. and was located in Springfield Baptist Church, the oldest independent black church in the nation.

In 1879, the institute moved to the basement of the Friendship Baptist Church in Atlanta and changed its name to Atlanta Baptist Seminary. The seminary later gained a four-acre campus in downtown Atlanta – and more than a few individuals (Kindred included) tried very hard to rail against it – but were ultimately turned aside by the mortal tide and political sabotage by unknown Kindred.

Of note, Morehouse was attended by many well-known individuals, the arguably most well-known is Martin Luther King Jr.

Your character has access to the school facilities after dark without needing a pass from the higher ups. This gives you plenty of time to dedicate to any of the multiple pursuits and activities available at the school.

You may choose to have +1 dice on one of the following skills while your character is present on the grounds, which is assuming they are located in the appropriate building for it’s use: Academics (Brawley Hall), Athletics (Archer Hall), Computers (Douglass Hall), Crafts (Brawley Hall), Expression (Brawley Hall), Persuasion (Brazeal Hall – Female Characters get +2 for this one, but may only use the extra dice for Seduction), Politics (Wheeler Hall), Science (Hope Hall)

Sizable

Okay, you know your way around campus, and you’ve gotten a feel for the general night-to-night activities as well as gotten yourself familiar with the various fraternities living on campus grounds. Now, you can use that sort of familiarity to your advantage.

As Minor; Utilize the “Carpatheo Method” – an urban legend on the college to your advantage – to gain access to the databases of the college unrestricted (it scares the beejeezus out of the student security, so they run the hell away which in turns gives you Access to Highly-Specialized Database)

Major

Your deeds are known far and wide, even if people wouldn’t even recognize you on sight, at Morehouse which gives you all sorts of leeway in dealing with people. You drop a name and you’re in... anywhere.
