In essence a combination master of ceremonies and groundskeeper, the Master of Elysium is responsible for maintaining the peace in the Elysiums of the Hold. The Master of Elysium personally examines an Elysium prior to declaring it Elysium and often makes rounds of the Hold to check on the condition of facilities. The Master of Elysium ensures readiness for the Overlord's court or other official functions, cleaning up afterward and making sure that the Herald is informed to spread word of specific Elysium-related events. The Master of Elysium is also responsible for enforcing the custom of nonviolence in each of the Elysiums throughout the Hold, making this office a particularly important and difficult one. In order to see to enforcement, the Master of Elysium often appoints a Gaoler for physical enforcement.

Five Things a Master of Elysium May Do

• Accept payment for lobbying that a specific location is declared Elysium
• Casually overlook a small breach of Elysium (...for a price)
• Work with the harpies to promote Kindred who draw people to Elysium
• Encourage attendance at one Elysium over another (...for a price)
• See that Elysium is mystically aligned to benefit a certain person (or group of persons)
