Luciana Gabrieli at age 19.
April 1st, 1969.
On this fine spring morning in the small fishing village of Trapani, Sicily, a child was born: Luciana Giovanna Gabrieli, also known by “Luci”. To her mother, Luci was a miracle. To her father, she was the meaning of life. Luci’s parents hadn’t been able to have children before her, so they felt like they had failed. Bringing this child into the world gave them reason to be thankful. Each day as Luci grew older, her parents would go to work at the harbor, shelling oysters and fishing in the nearby Tirreno Marina so they could provide a decent life for their dear Luci. Hours would go by when the little girl had nobody to talk to. She became very familiar with Calabria Tropea, which was the nearby beach where she sometimes played, awaiting the loud horn blow that would signal the end of her parent’s workday.
For years she had played on this beach, collecting sea shells, building sand castles
and wading in the tide. On august 3rd. 1977, she had dared to venture further inland, feeling she was old
enough to do some harmless exploring. She was about a quarter mile from where she usually roamed when suddenly
she was accosted by three men. The larger of the two grabbed her, while the smaller man gave directions in a
language she did not understand. She was unaware that she had been abducted by modern Slave Traders and was
to be sold as a slave. From there, Luciana was taken to Libya, where she was abused and used in ways no one
should ever have to endure. She fought at first, though even one with the fieriest of hearts will eventually
brake. Luci was quickly sold to a sleazy Cuban cocoa farmer. Every woman in Luci’s family had developed early;
she was no exception. At the ripe age of 14, she became quite popular.
She endured the lifestyle of a personal sex slave for two long years, passed around to whomever her Master saw fit.
Around the time of her 16th birthday, she was free. Using the trust she had built up with her Master, she waited
until the day he sent her to the marketplace to escape. There she met and joined a group of slaves fleeing Cuba's
reach. When they finally reached Florida, she hit the ground running. She soon got settled down in Miami, but
having no education and speaking very little English, Lucia was forced to do what she did best. Her temper,
however, would put her in a constant world of pain. She disliked what she did for money. In fact, she despised
it and the bastards who paid her (or rather, paid her Pimp.) Being so young and so weak meant that she didn't
always get paid for her time. Rape was nearly a common thing and it took years of forging that only a life on
the streets could have given her in order to get what was rightfully hers from these most despicable of men.
She spent what little time she had to herself reading at the local libraries and tempering her body.
Lucia had learned to pick pocket and hot wire cars from her experience on the streets. She was quite street savvy
and could be counted on to know the tricks of many trades at the drop of a hat. At 26, she met a man she would
only ever know as Matthew. She was supposed to be an easy snack for him; a street whore or Vampiric fast food
if you will. Fortunately, that was not meant to be. Matthew saw something special in her. A spark, if you will.
She had an overwhelming hatred for humanity. There was just something about her personality that attracted him to her.
He spent some time with her and on August 3rd 1997 she was embraced.
It was at this point she was able to get off the streets and away from all the pimps. She took to a higher class of hooking, usually going with the same clients.Matthew spent a fair amount of time showing her the ins and outs or Vampirism, though she was to learn most of iton her own. When he felt she was ready, he allowed her to uncover the fact that he was part of a group called the
Lancea Sanctum. She knew nothing of this group, but knew that it was Sire’s wish that she learn more.
Matthew sent Luciana to St. Augustine, where she was to await further notice from the priest, so that she may meet
with a man named Bishop Jacques DuPont in Atlanta. Thus her story in Atlanta has begun.
