The Traditions
Masquerade
Do not reveal your true nature to those not of the Blood. Doing so forfeits you your claim to the Blood.
- Any thing that calls attention to the nature of Kindred is a breach of the Masquerade.
- All breaches of the Masquerade will be immediately reported to the Sheriff for investigation.
Progeny
Sire another at the peril of both yourself and your progeny. If you create a childe, the weight is your own to bear.
- The Prince makes the final determination of Embrace Rights.
Amaranth
You are forbidden from devouring the heartsblood of another of your kind. If you violate this commandment, the Beast calls to your own Blood.
- Amaranth is punishable by death.
- Any one possessing the knowledge of a crime of Amaranth without informing the Sheriff will be tried as if they committed the crime themselves.
The Sanctity of Elysium
Only the Prince and the Master of Elysium have the right to sanction or unsanction Elysiums.
The current sanctioned Elysiums are:
- Howell House
- Saint Daniel's Hall
- Fox Theatre
Violence in Elysium will be punished by the Master of Elysium, or in his absence, the Prince. The only "acceptable" method of dealing with a Frenzied Kindred on Elysium grounds is restraint. Violence should not be met with violence.
Destruction of property within Elysium will be punished by the Master of Elysium, or in his absence, the Seneschal.
Violence in the Domain
All incidences of Final Death or periods of intentional torpor are forbidden in the domain of Atlanta with the following exceptions:
- The Hound has a right to absolute violence insofar as it falls within his duties or as commanded by the Prince.
- Recognized leaders of Covenants have the right to discrete violence to discipline members of their own covenants. Suspicious incidents of violence will be investigated by the Sheriff to make sure they fall within bounds of that which is allowed to be necessary by the Prince.
- Should the action be found acceptable any boons owed to the deceased or torpid Kindred will be removed, any boons owed from them will be transfered to the Recognized Covenant Leader.
- Domain holders have the right to discrete violence to deal with trespassers in their domain. All incidences of violence will be investigated by the Sheriff to make sure they fall within bounds of that which is allowed to be necessary by the Prince.
Honorable Duels
- Honorable duels, presided over by at least two Valued members of the city, will be allowed to end in torpor. All incidences of final death will be investigated and punished.
- It is the responsibility of the participants in the duel to inform the Valued Kindred presiding whom they wish to revive them in case of torpor, or if they do not wish to be revived. In cases where Kindred do not wish to be revived their bodies will be given into the care of the city if a caretaker is not specified.
- Honorable duels with death as an intended conclusion must be sanctioned by the Prince alone and presided over by an appointee of her choosing.
- There is no requirement that a duel must be accepted and there exists the requirement that non-violent reparations for insults or crimes be sought before a challenge is issued.
- Excessive use of the honorable dueling system will be investigated by the Sheriff as a potential, and intentional, subversion of the intent of the system.
Feeding and Living Arrangements
Domain Holders have ultimate say in who can live and feed within their domains.
Feeding and living within Unclaimed domains can be requested by the Seneschal.
- Living within these domains will not be limited.
- Feeding within these domains will be decided upon by right of standing.
