Mortal Life
Johnna doesn't like to talk about her mortal life very much. What is known is that she served in the US Army for most of her adult life and has only left it at the embrace. The few who've managed to get her to talk about it know that she was in desert storm, and was once a fairly high ranking officer. What is known about her childhood is that she was born and raised in North Dakota, and that she was estranged from her mormon relatives early in her twenties.
Early Life as a Vampire
Johnna's life as a vampire got off to a rocky start. Early in her embrace conflicts developed between her and her sire Ivan Soulridge, much of it over her love affair with the former prince Devon Jones, and she saw Ivan Soulridge as weak and easily manipulated. Unable to break free of her sire's hold by using Devon Jones, she turned to the current prince and leader of the Invictus, Nathan Davis and in a bold and daring move she had Ivan declared as an unfit sire and was adopted by Nathan Davis.
It was shortly after that she broke off a love affair with the former prince Devon Jones, a move that would almost cost her life, and made her question much about the Invictus and doubt her conviction to become a member of it's ranks. She begged to be released so that she may try to come to grips with her life now and experince the world of vampires before commiting heart and soul to a cause. She was denied an told it was Invictus or death.
After insulting Devon Jones in front of the Elysium she forced Nathan Davis to pay for her transgression. The move backfired and she was forced to become blood bound to the prince. A repayment that would cause her to become exiled. As she was once again unable to contain her tongue, and had to much pride to be the 'second woman'. She got into a frenzied spat with Lisette Beauxhomme over Nathan Davis, along with the man himself and was exiled to New York for as long as Nathan Davis held praxis.
