Life
Jessica grew up in a very rich family in the later part of the 19th century. She had it all Money, Power, Looks, and Brains. Most her mortal history is just a blur by now she doesn't care. She furthered her education after graduating the 8th Grade through private tutoring and the wealth afforded to her, from her family. She planed on making a proper business woman out of herself. What she did not know was that she had something better.
Embrace
In 1902 her life only got better. The best thing that ever happened to her was the day she was taken into the family. What Jessica didn't know was that she was chosen and watched her whole life. She was groomed and tailored to be embraced. She is the mortal decedent of a wealthy and powerful Ventrue Lord. He took her in showed her the ropes. She spent her time studying and learning everything she could about the Invictus.
New York
Her one goal she did have tho was to not ever have to work a day in her life. She concentrated all her efforts on first establishing a business. What self respecting Invictus doesn't have money and money means power. Power being an end unto itself she cultivated a loan she received from her sire and struck out on her own with a zeal to make sure she never had to lift a finger. In 1915 she found a man by the name of James Mathers. He was intelligent, articulate, and a genius when it came to business. With a loan from her sire, she setup shop into a Jewelry store. She thought hey if you are going to look wealthy might as well have a business that caters to your needs without having to spend a dime of your own money.
The Great Depression hit in 1929 and it nearly destroyed her. Brought from luxury to near poverty like so many other prominent businesses she weathered it out. This time was hard on everyone but she knew in her prudent nature that it would not last forever.
When The Great Depression ended, in 1939, James and Jessica turned the jewelry store into a chain of jewelry stores. The money just kept rolling in but that wasn't enough. Money has never been enough. Although she is not a greedy woman she is never satisfied with what she has. Her insatiable desire for more money has always prompted her to keep herself busy with business.
With the aid of her pet James she established an art gallery in 1955. The Art Gallery became a center for Kindred of Quality, in Manhattan. Rotating pieces of art from the gallery to her home, guests were always amazed at how lavish she kept the place designed.
In 1960 she became Mistress of Elysium, of Manhattan. Many felt she was still to young for such a position, having only been embraced 58 years earlier. They were wrong. She tended her duties diligently under the regency of her Great Grandsire.
In 1963 she continued her patronage in the Arts and opened up an opera house. The opera house was just a minor venture tho never for profit but a Salon where Kindred of Quality could relax and enjoy a night out away from the Elysium.
The 1970s were still good times for her. Money flowed like water for her family and her ties with the New York Stock Exchange strengthened. The Elysium had a scandal when the Carthian Prefect frenzied. Jessica was there and was so furious about it she petitioned for him to be put under a two step Vinculum to her Great Grandsire, and warped his will with Dominate making him unable to attack anyone except in self defense.
She continued to tend her businesses with a loving care. Carefully making sure everything grew steadily and stores were appropriately placed in high traffic wealthy areas. Time was good to her. Over the 67 years from beginning her various businesses to liquidating them she lived at the peak of society in relative ease never having to worry for anything.
Atlanta
She grew tired of New York tho. The city life style was hectic and she could really never get a chance to rest so she sold everything off and set out for Atlanta, in 1982, where she restarted her jewelry business and continued to grow her fortune. Upon entering Atlanta she quickly set up her home.
Seeing the state the city was in, under Prince Whitaker, rumor has it, several up and coming Invictus, support Elijah DuQuette in a coup for Praxis, in 1983. What exactly happened nobody knows. But, in Jessica's mind the Invictus were betrayed, from within, and she wants to find out who those traitors are and make them pay.
Age was catching up with Jessica, and her desire to continue her line increased. In 2001 after 20 years of watching Clarissa, who shares the same mortal line as Jessica, she embraced her. Like all before her Clarissa was given a glorious last few months in the sun. Her mortal relations were tended to, she enjoyed the finest foods, hundreds of pictures were taken of her and digitally stored. Tending to the embrace was made as gentle and enjoyable as possible. Clarissa took shelter inside the Chateau and continues to live with her Sire, until the day of her Manumission and she is released.
When the Spire Midtown Condominium was being built, in 2005, she purchased the north wing as her personal Penthouse then sold her chateau. Today Jessica's condo is a grandiose display of Ventrue wealth and fortune. The living space is much smaller than what she had before but she is perfectly happy because it gives her a lording view over the city. In recent years Jessica has been developing an interest in Architecture and city planning, which prompted her move from a ground level mansion to a high-rise penthouse suite. In her home she keeps her pet's.
Late in 2006, Jessica sought out a person capable of managing the work on all her various property. She found one such individual in Maria Chavez. Maria handles all of her housekeeping and property management problems. After some time she made an arangement with Chris Walters, an associate of hers, and entered his mentorship.
