The Actual Oath

I, the Good Mister James William Hopkins, Viscount of Sylvan Hills, Priscus and Groom, childe of the Good Mister Arthur Britmann, Viscount and Commissioner, childe of Geoffrey Blanchard, childe of Christine Picard, in the presence of our notary Madam Councilor and the witnesses of the Invictus gathered here this night, give my unfailing fealty to the Right Honorable Madam Bridget Connelly, Marquise of Atlanta, Viscountess of Vinings and Councilor, childe of Mister James Sharpe, Au Pair, childe of Alder Catherine Franklin, Advisor, childe of Alder Alexander Heppington, Groom, childe of Niall McGee, childe of Sarah Meeks, in full obedience of speech and action, without favor or affection, malice or ill will.

I will henceforth for one years time faithfully support, protect and defend her Lordship and that I will, in the like manner, abide by and faithfully support all laws and proclamations he hath make. For each and all of which I make homage and fealty with hands and with mouth to the my said lord and elder and I swear upon these four gospels of God that I will always be a faithful vassal to thee and to the Dark Prophet Longinus in all things that a vassal is required to be faithful to his lord.

I will defend thee, my lord, and all thy wards, and the city and all your men and your possessions against malefactors and invaders, at my request and that of my successors at my own cost, and I will give to the power over all that I am and all that I possess in peace and in war, whenever they shall be claimed by thee. And if I do not observe to thee each and all the things declared above, and should come against these things, I wish that all the aforesaid properties and possessions should by that very fact be handed over to thee and to thy successors.
