Irene on Carthian Philosophy
..And what do you belive my ideals are, Sir?
Actually, I'm not a fan of Democracy . It's a bit, how should I phrase it. I find it a bit naive in it's truest form. Oh, I belive very much in individualism and self expression, as well as all citizens being equal before the law and having equal access to power. I do not agree that there should be checks and balances so that those who do exert themselves towards power should be held in check by those who cannot be bothered to exert themselves.
I've found that democracy, and collectivism breeds sloth in the carthian movement, allowing the actions of the few to pull down the rest. The yards of red tape in a check and balance system causes more hassle then it's worth and finally nothing is done. It may work for a mortal system, but one must remember they are infinitely more populous then ourselves and therefore their systems do not always work well with us.
The Carthian movement to me, is about freedom of religion and self expression, and individualism. It is individuals doing and completing their own projects who can call on each other for help so long as it is within reason. We are all unique and individual beings, and should explore our requiems as such.
