The Area

Industrial Park. A glorified remainder of the ambitious first projects of the politicians and city planners of Carcosa. Spires of steel and glass reaching up towards the heavens... with a for rent sign. Almost every building and pre-built sprawling warehouse-style HQ has either never been filled, or was quickly vacated as soon as the buyer realized no one else was joining him.

A sore spot for many Carcosians, the Graveyard reminds them of just how shittily their civic leaders plan for the future, regardless of the success of Diamondhead. For every successful building and row of bars and nightclubs, there are ten vacated ones somewhere else in the city. The dirty windows of almost all of the vacated buildings lend a sepia-tone to the dingy yellow hanging lights that occasionally light the streets. Homeless, of which there are thousands in the city, flock here where people and police don't bother to come. While they're not necessarily safe by any means, they are in the Graveyard en masse, which allows them to adopt the school of fish method: they're likely to kill someone else instead of me.

Prostitutes and pimps run the rows of streets here, and only rarely will a high priced limo roll through to pick up a girl - usually it's just junker pickups and similar sedans that make the rounds through this area. Street doctors are the preferable means to handle unwanted "gifts" from the profession, and there are quite a few known to be working out of the area. Ultimately, Industrial Park is a shithole, but on a casual glance it doesn't look to be as dangerous as some of the other barrens littering the outskirts of the city.
