Indictum is what the Society of the Cyclopean Scholars calls it's most guarded secret: the rites of their Eccentric bloodline. Indictum, which means "not mentioned, nameless or unspeakable" in Latin, is a developed power from the bloodline's inceptor and passed down through secretly created books and snippets of information and pieced together painstakingly by it's members.

Truly, Indictum is an insidious set of rites and rituals that extract a horrible toll in time over most of it's practitioners, but some find it to be well worth the risk.

The power of Indictum is different from powers and sorceries of other clans and bloodlines because it's power lies by the finding and piecing together of particular manuscripts and occult books before it's powers can be truly unlocked. That is, any member of the bloodline can expect to spend a great deal of time trying to track down damnable books from everywhere so that they can finally enact the ritual they have been so eager to lay their hands on.

Thus, this difficulty of obtaining makes the Eccentrics somewhat psychotic about their book collections, to say the least. Many a Kindred has found that their seemingly innocent error of spilling blood on a book belonging to a Cyclopean Scholar has granted them a first row seat in the very next sacrifice that said Scholar was planning. To be sure: do not fuck with an Eccentric's books.

Characters might find curious the fact that none of the rituals available are considered the "peak" of Indictum, that's because of the inceptors fate. Webb was rumoredly testing the ultimate level of the Indictum power when he met his fate, and there hasn't been anyone to the knowledge of the bloodline, yet, to try and piece together any similar rites to try again.

Books and their Rituals

These books are not "books" at all, but are carefully worded to give the bloodline members the hints it needs to track down each piece of the book puzzle and arrange it appropriately for the potential of rites. These books are also in various languages, so unless a character can read or have such a book translated (the latter a dangerous prospect for the translator) they'll have to wait until they can do so to gain any benefit from the knowledge.

    • Summon/Bind Servitor (4)
      • Note: These rituals are a little special, since they require obtaining a specific book on one of the three Ancient Gods. These books, referred to enmasse as The Books of Servitors, are named simply by the Gods each represents and references. Within each book there's information on a few servitors that the writing academic has encountered or researched, along with the basic information on them.
