House Balfourianae's Dynastic Compact

This document is the sworn proof, written in vitae the night of the 9th of January in the year of our Lord 2010, of the union of two Kindred of Quality under the name of Balfourianae.

The Patron of Balfourianae, known as Her Grace Alder Josephine of the line Arundell, Duchess and Prince of Carcosa, childe of the deceased Mister Colby Ryall, Soldier, childe of the Mister Sebastian Fawkner, Soldier, childe of Alder Behenna Rashleigh, Speaker, childe of The Right Honorable Alder Warren Keast, Marquis of Cornwall and Councilor, childe of The Honorable Alder Conner Arundell, Earl of Devon and Advisor, will be henceforth known as Josephine of Balfourianae formally.

The Protégé of Balfourianae, known as Mister Harman Scofield, Earl of the Butcher's Block and Slayer of Wolves, childe of Sir William Henry Wharton, Knight of the Thorned Wreath, childe of Sir James Raymond Edmonton, Knight of the Thorned Wreath, childe of Dame Julie Grunvald, Knight of the Thorned Wreath, childe of Dame Margaret Seward, Knight of the Thorned Wreath, childe of Sir Ivan Stuart, Knight of the Thorned Wreath, childe of Sir Richard Saint Laurent, Knight of the Thorned Wreath; will be henceforth known as Harman of Balfourianae formally.

The arrangement of Patron to Protégé within Balfourianae is distinguished by age, right, potency and assets. This convention shall hold until time and the cycling of eclipse shall erase its need.

The assets of Balfourianae's Patron and Protégé are henceforth considered one.

All Retainers are to be subjected to three drinks of each master and to be trained accordingly as to their new expectations.

- The Retainers priorly belonging to Harman of Balfourianae as listed:

All properties are to be redistributed under a blanket name and falsified or obfuscated if possible against any Kindred not the Patron or Protégé of the House or their blood-bound vassals. Divulging the information of such assets to anyone not aforementioned is punishable at discretion of Balfourianae. Such properties and holdings are expected to be, at the very least, maintained to their standard at the writing of this Dynastic Compact, excepting when Balfourianae shall unanimously agree to relinquish some of such property.

The positions of Balfourianae in regards to the city will be based on ability and willingness to serve, rather than expectations of fulfilling certain duties long-held by other members of Balfourianae. However, so long as there exists a member able to serve as Prince, Balfourianae will hold Praxis of Carcosa.

Members of Balfourianae residing in eclipse have the right to certain expectations and provisions for their period in eclipse. Provisions can be requested immediately prior to eclipse, however in the event of involuntary or unexpected eclipses the following expectations are universal:

A safe and secure haven will be provided for the resting member.
Trained and bonded retainers will be available for daytime protection.
All members of Balfourianae will sleep in the same residence and so security of said residence should be of the utmost importance.
A substantial amount of blood will be provided upon awakening of any member of Balfourianae.
For the duration of the torpor, the eclipsed kindred can expect to remain fed near to satiation at all times
Within three days of an awakening a reporting of all changes in assets and city status can be expected by a newly awoken member.

The first two members of Balfourianae recognize the existing mutual vinculum between them, and furthermore are to drink upon the signing of this Compact from one another to seal and to protect and to celebrate the nascent House. Additional members may be granted entrance into House Balfourianae provided the unanimous consent at Summit of all members of Balfourianae and that they shall drink for seven consecutive nights from each member of Balfourianae.

Lastly and of the utmost importance, the members of Balfourianae swear undying and eternal fidelity and loyalty. Every action shall be undertaken to the benefit of the House and no member of Balfourianae shall pursue any ill intent, be it of act or of neglect, towards another member.
