On this night, October the sixteenth in the year of our Lord twenty-oh-eight, the members of the Invictus of Carcosa gather to bear witness to the joining of two individual Kindred of Quality in the formation of the Cyclic Dynasty known as Aedelred, the House of Noble Counsel. House Aedelred stands forth to join the Patron, the Right Honorable Mister Quentin Ainsworth, Marquis of Carcosa and Councilor, childe of Mister Algernon Winthrop, Senator, childe of Madam Jezebelle Rains, Interpreter and Speaker, childe of Jonathan Valen of the Circle of the Crone, childe of Sidharma of the Circle of the Crone, childe of The Right Honorable Alder Basil Ingleton, Marquis of London and Councilor, and the Protege, the Good Madam Josephine Blackwell-Finch of the line Arundell, Viscountess of Starkhorn Heights, Councilor, childe of the deceased Mister Colby Ryall, Soldier, childe of the eclipsed Mister Sebastian Fawkner, Soldier, childe of presumed eclipsed Alder Behenna Rashleigh, Speaker, childe of The Right Honorable Alder Warren Keast, Marquis of Cornwall and Councilor, childe of The Honorable Alder Conner Arundell, Earl of Devon and Advisor, in blood, mind and will.
House Aedelred is hence forth in possession of all the individual assets formerly attributed to its individual members, Quentin and Josephine, including monetary wealth, businesses, residences, property, fealty, domain, prestation and prestige. Due to the constraints of mortal society, monetary wealth and property will remain under the mortal identities of their respective contributor but shall be recognized by Kindred society as belonging to House Aedelred. All mortal retainers and thralls will be considered community property of the House any refusing this designation will be destroyed.
The members of House Aedelred recognize the necessity of blood oaths and agree to willingly submit themselves to at least a mutual two drink vinculum, in addition members of House Aedelred swear to refuse any vinculums that would put them deeper in thrall to outside members than they are to that of their Patron. Due to the constraints of the Dynastic Compact, members are forbidden to serve under Oath to outside Kindred unless the Oath affects all members of the House. In the Cyclic Dynasty one member is as all members. Members wishing to join House Aedelred must swear the same blood oath as its other members, but will only be accepted after an appropriate time of Fealty during which time they will undergo tests approved by the Patron of the House.
Active members of House Aedelred will provide safe resting spots for those who may be in the eclipse and will share this resting spot for the majority of the sleeping members' eclipse. Furthermore, it is understood that during such a tenure, that active members of House Aedelred will be able to provide enough blood upon waking for any member to be able to stave off the beast before they hunt.
Property of House Aedelred will not be sold or disposed of, except as necessary gifts or as obligations of the House require. If House Aedelred must use its personal property as largesse, the waking member of the House is required to replace any lost valuables. It is the expectation that the waking member of the House keep a notable public presence as to remind the Kindred of Carcosa of the power of the august Invictus. Furthermore, it is the expectation of the Patron of House Aedelred that any contracts, blood oaths, oaths of fealty, House secrets, or other arcana only be shared to outside members with utmost discretion.
A Tribunal has been established consisting of Kien Zhao and Marco Belmonte. The Tribunal will act as the eyes of the Patron of the House, Quentin, and the conscience of the Protege, Josephine. It is the Tribunals duty to watch for any activity that would cause irreparable damage to House Aedelred or any activity that is purposefully detrimental to the House. It is the Tribunal's duty to witness that the Protege of House Aedelred is capable of maintaining the functions and standing of the House. Should the Tribunal find that the Protege of the House has acted in any manner inconsistent with the expectations of the Protege, it is the Tribunal's duty to place into forcible eclipse the Protege until judged by the Patron. If for some reason the Patron is the target of this breach of trust and his final death is the result, the Protege understands this is a forfeit of her Requiem and will be subject to final death by members of the Tribunal.
As neither Quentin nor Josephine have intentions of relinquishing their current duties and activities, the current time is considered a period of summit for House Aedelred. Furthermore House Aedelred has established that during this point of waking it is the House's intention to find and evaluate a third member as Tradition states that Houses require three members to be most stable.
This compact may be revised or dissolved upon addition of new members to House Aedelred or upon the awakening from eclipse of a current member.
