Hound

The Hound is the Prince's assassin, enforcer, and chief leg-breaker all rolled into one. Pure and simple, the Hound is a thug and a killer (though sometimes not necessarily a thug AND a killer, there have been plenty of well-spoken death dealers in history), the executioner, the cold, merciless foe that stalks kindred lawbreakers and brings them to justice. The Hound doesn't negotiate, doesn't talk, doesn't waste her time with words - she kills, or, if you're very lucky, she beats the hell out of you and leaves you to reflect on what you did wrong as your body knits back together. The Hound when acting in their capacity is not a diplomat or a social butterfly. The Hound a good amount of the time is a rabid dog that the Prince keeps on a leash, and every now and again someone earns his displeasure and gets to meet her face-to-face. Those who survive the meeting either shape up or don't get a second chance to reject the Prince's mercy.

• Hound is expected to encourage unknowns and nomads to seek Acknowledgement if they have not done so already.
• Hound is expected to provide as the martial arm of the Prince and Sheriff, if necessary.
• Hound is expected to be unwavering in punishment set down from the Prince; a phone call is not Hounding.
