History

1771

Gregori Krailo is embraced in the city of Charkiv, Ukraine. He is the child of a wealthy businessman with a brilliant mind. His sire begins his schooling in a "trial by fire" manner, sending Gregory out to fend for himself with minimal involvement. Gregori is inducted as a Slave in the Ordo Dracul.

1798

Gregori, now a Scribe, flees the Ukraine and the constant wars, unwilling to enter torpor and pause his Great Work to escape the Russian Soldiers.

1800

Gregori finally reaches America, and a port in South Carolina. He integrates himself into the Acadamy and begins his studies again. He finds a mentor and starts on his 3rd coil.

1815

Gregory americanizes his name and, now a Scholor, begins a Dragon's Tail as part of his Dying Light initiations. His subject, a dock worker who has "convienently" lost his wife and 2 children. The man quits his job and begins to roam. Gregory decides it would be bad form to let the man slip away and tracks him for years.

1823

Gregory arrives in Atlanta, still chasing his querry. He is found by Hakan while hunting and finds him gorging to the point of killing his victims. Hakan proposses a deal, offering boons if he will not reveal his murderous feeding habits, and offers Gregory a meeting with his sire. Gregory is sheltered by the Invictus. He begins a study course with the aid of a mentor in South Carolina via letter.

1824

Gregory embraces his first of 3 childer, Charlotte Craimer.

1825

Gregory convinces Hakan, something of an ally, to embrace a childe on his behalf. Gregory's reasons for wanting a Deava childe are unknown, but most suspect the move is a simple matter of not wanting to weaken himself further. (note: in fact, the embrace was a subtle experiment to see if a deava childe would acquire an affinity to mekhet disciplines if raised and taught by a mekhet and under a partial viniculum to a adopted mekhet sire.

1826

Gregory embraces his third childe, Catherine Jung, and is inducted into the Sworn of the Dying Light. The three childer are each taught the same way Gregory was. Limited interaction and a very "trial by fire" attitude, forcing them to reevaluate and criticize every action they took, and every decision they made.

1838

Gregory's third childe, Catherine Jung, leaves to join the Invictus covenant a few short years after her release. Gregory frenzies and a mother and her daughter in his lab suffer the consequences. He is set back 2 years in his research.

1847

Gregory's second childe, Melissa joins the Circle of the Crone. At first Gregory is furious, but after a few nights calms down and allows his wayward childe to do as she wishes. Charlotte is now a Supplicant of the Terror, and Gregory as achieved the rank of Adept of the Wild Curse.

Gregory misses the “Incorporation” party and Michael Winchester subsequent rise to Prince. He finds out several days later and petitions to have the Sworn of Mysteries look to Michael as a potential recruit, given his obvious skills in political maneuvering.

1852

Gregory is named as Kogaion of Atlanta, and immediately restricts assess to all nests in the city to preserve their locations and potency for "approved use". There is general resentment of this sudden restriction, and several Dragons decide to simply use the nests anyway. Gregory fails to discover this until a Slave is killed at a Perilous Nest. Gregory uses the unexpected death as a platform for his control and access approval to all nests in the city.

1862

Gregory's adoptive grandchilde, Anna Shearing, seeks him out for refuge. He provides a place for the relatively young childe to sleep away the day. The arrangement becomes semi-perminant and later that year, she joins the ranks of the Ordo Dracul as a Slave.

1867

Gregory petitions (and makes veiled threats some in the Ordo say) to get Buckhead during Prince Winchester's land grab. He gets the domain, gaining an official hold of one of the two Crucible Nests in the city. Anna, having shown some degree of martial skill, he assigns as a Guardian over this crucible. Within the Ordo, his anger over Prince Winchester granting Decatur to a Lancae Sanctum spurs a sudden and oddly over-bearing work load when it comes to Winchester's studies, all of his preferred topics suddenly not sufficient, although others in the academy are openly allowed to continue pursuing similar interests, and all of his assigned topics seemingly trivial and obvious "dead-ends". When Winchester complains, Gregory makes it obvious that it's Winchester's lack of ability that is making the topics yield less then pleasing results, and he is physically punished for his inadequacies.

1883

It's unanimously decided among the Ordo to refuse and help with the Sanctified "werewolf problem" in Decatur, in hopes that the creatures will drive the Sanctified from the area. Gregory is the main proponents of this stance, but has little official authority to make the decision himself. He relies on Prince Winchester to make the right choice (now a member of the Sworn of Mysterys), and the man does so.

1904

Gregory leads a series of rituals intended to draw spirits into Atlanta women's bodies so he may converse with the creatures and gain knowledge of what he calls "the Weave" from the "other side." The first 3 rituals are failures, and simply leave a slew of women ritualistically slain, and the police deeply suspicious. Local mortal churches point their finger at the African-American population, siting their "traditional Black Magics", and while the killings are kept from the news papers, tensions build among law officers, a situation which helps to fuel the Race Riots only 2 years later. His fourth ritual is a success, and surviving witnesses to the event are sworn to secrecy about what transpired.

1921

Gregory is forced to defend his influence over the occult sector as the Carthians make a push to all sectors of the city. He fails to notice as there is a shift from the Invictus to the Carthian Movement. In fact he's taken to such a cloistered existence, that he is not even aware of the existence of this new group until they begin encroaching on his holdings.

1945

In an effort to claim the second Crucible of the city for the Academy's use, Gregory makes a strong push to the Axe Sworn for a strike against the Werewolves in the area of Decatur, Shermans Match. The move leaves 3 Dragons dead, including the sole member of the Sworn of Mysteries, and in the sudden shift in power afterward, Gregory loses his hold on Buckhead as well. Blaming their losses on Winchester and his greedy grab at Praxis so many years ago, Gregory pulls the Academy from the political arena completely after yet another Dragon is slain, which leaves the covenant weak on all fronts. His grandchilde, Anna serves as the only remaining Sworn of the Axe after her superior is slain.

1962

Gregory, still seeking to gain control of the Sherman's Match Crucible (likely for his own uses, as he has reached a plateau in his Great Work and is in need of the site to continue), stages a ritual which is intended to pull the power of the Crucible temporarily along down a Ley Line for their use. The ritual, little to Gregory's knowledge, is actually warded by the Werewolves own totem magics, and thus fails horribly, destroying the Fontal Nest Gregory is working from in the process.

1979

After witnessing the attack on Seneshal Connelly, Gregory takes a sudden interest in the cities new Prince. Two Supplicants are instructed to investigate the event, in hopes of discovering some avenue of power for the Order to use against the Werewolves in Decantur. Much to Gregory's disappointment, the two report that they believe the Prince is not involved at all, and that Connelly is simply a member of the Courtier bloodline.

1999

Believing that the rumored cataclysmic electronic failures of on the night of New Millennium will reduce the resistance of his reaching beings beyond the veil of the physical realm by reducing electronic interference and removing radio frequencies from the atmosphere, Krailo hosts another ritual (some Dragons whisper "psycho" behind his back). The ritual's intended effect, which is to create a "window" through the veil of reality and speak to creatures elsewhere at the exact stroke of midnight. However, the time comes and nothing occurs. Gregory suspects sabotage from a fellow Dragon, and begins to closely watch his covenant mates.
