Description
The University is divided into Six Colleges:
- College of Architecture
- College of Management
- College of Liberal Arts
- College of Computing
- College of Engineering
- College of Sciences
It's nearly impossible to keep up with all of them, or even two. The inter-faculty politics and the student interests are far too intricate for the casual observer to keep up with. Even the most ambitious students will find themselves spread too thin if they try to immerse themselves in more than one school.
The politics between the faculties, at the highest level, are again frustrating and complicated. The institution is ancient and prestigious, but also publically funded. This means tuition, while high, isn't unrestricted, and the school's limited funding often disappears into various administrative channels. The heads of each College fight viciously over the scraps to fund their pet research projects and favored faculty members.
The students themselves are rather typical, and often oblivious to the machinations of those above them. People who want to manipulate students would be advised to look at the bigger picture and spread roots through all of Atlanta's Universities, because at Georgia Tech they're a little more apathetic than elsewhere, and not so easy to rile up. This University is attractive for its faculty and politics, more than for its students.
