The Gaoler is the muscle for the Overlord, or even Master of Elysium, as they tend to roam the city's in the Hold to ensure that the laws and policy's of the Overlord are being upheld. They are known to typically be Hounds on steroids without boundaries, or rules to adhere to. Many kindred in the hold dread meeting them, as well as having to deal with them in a face to face “meeting” (Ie you fucked up) There have been many wispers that the Gaoler is also willing to occasionally take matters in there own hands instead of consulting the one they serve as to the punishment, and verdict of the accused.

It is common for many hounds to attempt to raise above the limits of their city lines, and advance up to that of a Gaoler, for those who like to fight, well they just love to fight, they love the feeling of blood or ash on their hands, and well they have gotten good at it. They tend to also sometimes be experts at muscling those that could have a far worse fate out of cash, favors, or even a viniculum, who wouldnt want a ring of spies looking for your latest target?
