Forest Park

The Atlanta-metro city of Forest Park used to be one of the great areas of the metropolitan area. However, with "white-flight", Forest Park was left the worst off of all of the Atlanta-based neighborhoods and cities. It has been a cesspool of trouble for years upon years and either because of general apathy of corruption, the city of Forest Park does little to try and "reclaim" it's own city from the gangs and other violent individuals that freely roam through it.
Not all of the area is completely destitute and dangerous, however, and indeed the Atlanta Hartsfield Airport is located "in" Forest Park and quite a few hotels, bars and one-nighter places can be found in and around the Airport.
The phrase "never leave the house without packin' a gun" was attributed to a rapper who's home was located in Forest Park. The rapper, named Benjamin Kline, was shot and killed visiting his grandmother in her Forest Park home on her 71st birthday. This story is one of many that comes from Forest Park and it is hardly original, and sadly all too common.
