Fernbank Museum of Natural History

Description
The Fernbank is a rare hybrid of academic and social interests. It boasts an impressive collection of natural history exhibits, including the world famous Giants of the Mesozoic exhibit, replete with a 123 foot long dinosaur as its centerpiece.
The museum also draws many visitors to its IMAX theater, particularly as the variety of films for IMAX increase as the production cost drops. As a result there is a wide array of ways to amuse, entertain, and educate oneself at the museum.
The Martinis and IMAX parties in the early part of the year draw a more sophisticated crowd into the world of IMAX film and create a curious admixture with the relatively young, crude, and unrefined sorts that the events also attract. It's not uncommon to see an unwashed college student gulping down dry martinis while regaling a rather uncomfortable looking socialite with the knowledge from his first week of anthropology class, and it's precisely this dynamic that makes the Fernbank Museum interesting.
