This Atlanta-metro city is home to R&B and hip hop groups such as TLC, OutKast, Coolbreeze, Organized Noize, and Goodie Mob. It is also the home of Teddy Geiger. A portion of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is located in East Point. The National Archives regional repository for data collected from the U.S. Census was originally located in East Point until it was moved to a new facility in the nearby City of Morrow, Georgia. East Point is also the home of one of the few working velodromes (the Dick Lane Velodrome) in the United States. The City, formerly known for its mass industrial activity is also currently home to one of the area's operating creosote plants, run by the William C. Meredith Co., Inc. The Southern Wood Piedmont Company operated a facility directly next to Meredith for decades. The site is no longer in active production but is one of their deepest creosote contamination sites. At over 30 acres pumps reach over 200 feet into the bedrock below.
