Decatur
From SuspireWiki
Decatur has, and always will be, a spot where cultures clash. On one hand, the city's motto, inscribed on the city seal, reads "A city of homes, churches, and schools.", but the crimerate of Decatur is one of the highest in the Atlanta-metro area. However, with that being said, there are numerous individuals (both of great esteem or great notoriety, depending on whom you speak to) that have or currently do call Decatur their home, and many of Decatur's residents consider their area to be "Decatur where it's Greater".
Decatur has one of the highest property tax rates in Georgia, much of which goes to support the high cost of maintaining a school system with one of the lowest student/teacher ratios in the State.
Notably, Emory University and Agnes Scott College are located within or "considered" within the Decatur area. Other points of interest within Decatur are: Georgia Perimeter College Botanical Garden, Decatur Arts Festival and the Historical Train Depot.
To be noted, many "new-money" claims-to-fame have recently come from the Decatur area. Chris Tucker (a comedian) and Lil' Jon (considered the originator of the "Crunk" style of Rap) claim Decatur as their home.
