Nekros, Level 5 Ritual

Reference: Suspire.org

Description

Held as the most prized ritual a member can learn, this ritual allows the caster to induct a vampire of any clan into the ranks of the Vrykolakes. The ritual is mostly a ceremonial thing, attended by all members within the area who can do so. Those vampires that count themselves already as a member of the Disciples claim to be infused with some of the will that the inductee must expend during the rite.

The actual indoctrination ceremony is different from priest to priest, but it’s effects are the same. On a timeline of events. A character becomes an apprentice to the Disciples and is vouched for by an Avus. The character is then allowed to try and understand the concepts of vitae fueling death and action. When the character is believed to be able to perform all tasks and is not released from the apprenticeship due to failure, the Consecration will be performed. This inducts the vampire into the lowest ranks of the bloodline and is referred to as a Kore. Sibyls and Bakids claim that the Consecration infuses the characters with the ability to finally understand and learn the Remembrance of Life. How true this is, is anyone's guess...

System

This ritual is more symbolic than anything. However, if the character is true to her word and wishes to join the Disciples, along with being Blood Potency 3 or greater, a permanent Willpower point will be sapped from her system and fuels those who join in the viewing of the ritual. While the character in question loses her permanent Willpower point, the others viewing have a benefit of gaining +2 dice on any Nekros rolls for the next week (which is the reason many Disciples never miss a Consecration ceremony).

Naturally, if a character is unwilling to expend this permanent point (and dedicate herself to the bloodline) the ritual does not occur and everyone present for the ritual knows it. At which point she is cut from all ties to the bloodline and treated as a failure. Vampires who become known as failures to the bloodline are rarely attempted to be re-indoctrinated.
