The second oldest part of the Kingdom of the Americas, the Confederacy of the True South was the first Hold created by the King. It wasn’t conquered, but instead gained by treaty much like the United States gained most of the physical territory. It’s said that a French missionary arrived in New Orleans during the first French colonization and managed to control nearly all the shipping in and out of the port. From there he was able to build a rival Kingdom of his own. The treaty laid out strict terms to combine the two territories to take advantage of shipping lines with both the Frenchman and Cornelius operating as partners. Like most Kindred partnerships, this one ended when Cornelius betrayed and slayed the Frenchman then appointed his loyal friend, Katherine Smith to guard the domain. Katherine still resides in New Orleans, which was the Capital city until Hurricane Katrina decimated it’s population. Now the Capital has shifted to Atlanta, but Katherine refuses to leave her home as such, there’s some concern that she’s become an increasingly out-of-touch Overlord. The Faxist appointed to the Hold is Benjamin Hart.
