If you’re not with us, you’re against us.
Unless you're both. Or neither.
Or either at any time it’s convenient.
Confused?
Good. If you weren't, I’d think you were crazy.
Now listen while I tell you who's who and
what's what in this Movement of ours.
- Stacy Rodriguez, Carthian patron

The Carthian Movement is the most modern of the vampiric covenants, seeking to uproot tradition and create a more egalitarian system for vampiric rule. Carthians are full of ideas, fiery and passionate about their beliefs for Kindred self-rule. Few of them think about why the current status quo has lasted for as long as it has. Instead, they are eager to challenge it, fervent to accomplish something positive in the dark world of the Kindred. The Carthian Movement mostly comprises neonates and they tend to be wary of the elders of their kind. The older a vampire becomes, the more stagnant and callous he becomes to the world around it. The Movement has still had success in some areas, however, and has grown support by being patient and playing the political games that it must. Passion and unity are the weapons of the Carthian Movement.

Benefit: As a shared network of idealists, the Carthians find it much easier to advance their position in mortal society. As a result, it is much cheaper for players of Carthian characters to purchase the Allies, Contacts, Haven, and Herd Merits with experience points.

  2. The interest group(s) that your character has selected must have at least a group of 3 that are affiliated with the Carthian Movement (PC ghouls would be affiliated) in them to function.
  3. These groups that you would like to gain the benefit of the merits from must meet a minimum of once per month to be considered active.
  4. Bonuses gained from these Interest Group Merits do not apply to Discipline rolls.

Covenant Ascendancy Information

Ascendant Carthians find it easy to interact with the mortal world and co-exist with the mortals in the domain. By calling in a favor or otherwise greasing mortal wheels, Carthians can find an improvised haven somewhere in the city on very short notice, not needing to return to their normal homes. They cannot be left without a shelter unless they are taken outside the city. Such improvised havens do not grant any of the benefits of the Haven Merit, however, and may only be utilized a number of times equal to Carthian Status +1. With more time to devote to the mortal masses and their dealings with them, Carthians are also assumed to have and +2 dice on any Domain Merit rolls. Finally, the ascendant Carthians also have a systematic bonus of University Allies 1.

Current Faction Views

Since the Invictus' Connelly took the city with a smashing blow that involved all of the covenants just because of petty revenge, we've been stuck picking up the pieces of what was a long-term falling apart from members going missing or just leaving. So far, it's been tough going. Everyone's got an opinion, and everyone's not afraid to voice it. There's been a lot of talk about betrayal going around, and it almost seems like we don't even trust each other. Sooner or later though, it'll work itself out, it'll have to.

Views of the other Covenants

Mini_crone.png
Circle of the Crone: Some of us can't stand the Crone, some of us can. We're split about 50/50 on them, and frankly I don't know if that's going to change anytime soon.
Mini_invictus.png
The Invictus: Say what you want, but they hustled our ass and took the city with a nearly unanimous swing. Now we've got to think about what to do now, and like normal, everyone's got their own opinion.
Mini_lancea.png
Lancea Sanctum: You know what? We'd rather have an Invictus city than a Sanctified city any damn day. DuPont's always been an Invictus lapdog, and he will always be an Invictus lapdog.
Mini_ordo.png
Ordo Dracul: Some fucking neutrality they have. Fuck them, fuck Krailo, Deuchamps and Sanura all at once with a flaming razor-bladed dildo. Two-faced jackals.
Mini_unaligned.png
Unaligned: In the last few years, they've done nothing but cause trouble. We haven't seen an Unaligned yet (even those recently Unaligned, like Dumas) that's been worth spit.
