Description
To the people forced to use transportation in Carcosa, every train station may as well be the same: antiseptic white walls, grey concrete floors, and black lettered signs. If it weren’t for the bold black letters stenciled onto the wall announcing “Mercantile Loop” or “First Street Station” or any other station name, commuters could easily lose sense of their location. The only difference rests in the care taken; the stations in on the outskirts and dregs of the city quickly are given over to graffiti and refuse while the those in the bustling Hive Ward are often repainted and repaired.
Steel and glass stations made identical to each other encase the rail platforms and the tracks in between them. Concrete stairs lead up to the platforms and hard concrete benches along the walls offer the only relief from standing. Not even the friendly face of a ticket person greet commuters, instead an automated machine takes their money and spits out their tickets.
In the darkest hours of night only the nicest stations around Paradigm Plaza and the most dangerous around Old Town show signs of life, the former are those choosing not to partake of valet parking while darting from party to party and the latter with muggers waiting for easy marks. Those that fall in between those extremes may see the unlucky souls who are forced by circumstance to take public transportation to their dreary third shift jobs.
Trains come and go every half hour during the day and every fifteen minutes on weekdays during morning and evening rush.
