Description

The bakery, which only sells the absolute worst stale bread in probably all of Carcosa, should have been out of business a few months after it opened in the 1980's, but here it is, the 2000's and Callabrera's is still open. During the daytime, there's pretty much non-existent traffic, except for locals who come to watch some sports re-runs or play on a couple of the video arcade machines nestled in the corner. At nighttime, the bakery is still open, but it can be either dead quiet or a horde of vehicles out front. Out back is where the action is.

Leading down to the lower floor which says "stock room" out front, one finds themselves in a totally different environment. The interior of the place smells vaguely of medical equipment, and there's a small sitting room, if you even pay up front, they'll bring out smokes (and if you pay enough, good cigars) so have a seat. Relax. Your friend will be alright... maybe. The doctor, generally referred to as "Doc" or "Ramirez", is of late 30's Hispanic descent, and walks with a slight limp. One can see the outline of old and faded Hispanic gang tattoos and the markings of someone who is deemed "protected, safe and neutral". The man's a street doctor and the bakery is just his front.

Benefit

Drop out Doc. Ramirez was a med-school drop out when his brother was shot in a fight between the MS and North-Side Crips who were looking for trouble. He made his living, and continues to do so, patching up those who can pay. For those with his trust, he'll even let use some of the equipment there, fix up a wounded compatriot, or computers and systems he's had "accidentally" hooked into Carcosa General Hospital's various databases. A character with this site's benefit can utilize 9-again on mundane Medicine rolls (or 8-again if the Carthian Interest Group Lab Group is held), can utilize a street doctor for free, research patient databases or handle looking through confidential records from Carcosa General.
