Arthur Fionte is a part-time Catholic, though when he was growing up the family went to church every Sunday and Mass every Saturday. He just fell out of touch with his spiritual side a little as he grew. He loved sports, and excelled at soccer and football when he was young. His father had a slight drinking problem which would be inherited by Arthur as he got older, and his mother’s side of the family had a history of still born deaths in her family. Arthur and his brother were a blessing to her. Arthur’s cousin however had not had so much luck. She was born with an untreatable disease, and died one day when Arthur was baby sitting her while their parents were at the end of the block at a yard sale. This scarred Arthur’s memory for life.

Arthur was an athletic man of average size. He had spent his childhood and teenage years in Charleston, South Carolina. He is a graduate of Hannahan High School, where he played soccer and was apart of the Marine JROTC in which he excelled at. He wanted to be a Marine coming out of school, but tore up his ankle the summer he graduated and there went that option. So he worked odd jobs during that summer and got drunk for the first time as well. 48 ounces of Crown royal while he was on vacation in Daytona will either make you or break you from booze. It made Arthur like it too much at times.

From high school he went to college and studied off and on as a criminal justice major, but grew tired of all the laws he would have to follow if he completed that path to become a police officer. He doesn’t like, never has, will never like playing by all the rules of society. In his eyes….eye for and eye and a life for a life. He is a sneaky man who always finds loopholes out of situations, either by lying or peer pressure manipulative ways.

Arthur loved investigative work, but hated to “punch a ticket” so he got in with a retired cop named Maurice Washington. Maurice or “Moe” for short, taught him everything there was to know about being a private investigator. He showed him how to use a gun, and even helped him get his concealed carry permit when he was 21. This time with Moe was the best of Arthur’s life. He had freedom to come and go as the jobs came and went…no ties and suits to wear...and no timecard to punch on a regular basis. That was the best part.

One case that has Arthur at a high pitched state of anger is a businessman who beat his wife unconscious in front of their three kids. When the wife’s sister called and spoke to Arthur on the phone he immediately dropped everything else he was doing and jumped on this case. The sister-in-law was paying well, but she wanted to catch her brother-in-law in the act. She wanted him caught beating her sister, or cheating on her, or doing something. She even offered to set him up with a hooker so Arthur could get pictures so they could give it to the judge. She wanted everything to help her sister out. She did not want to let this son-of-a-bitch come away with anything.

Arthur took the job and started working feverously. He jumped head first into it and found out the man works for a pharmaceutical company that does business with the MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina) and Emory Hospital in Atlanta. He travels to and from Charleston to Atlanta every business quarter staying for about 3 months at a time. So now that Arthur had his schedule, he had to make a decision. He conversed with Moe about it and the lady was paying well enough so that they could put on hold some of the other cases while the “Husband” was in Charleston, but when he left for Atlanta, Arthur would follow him.

Moe knew some people from his exchanges with the Atlanta Police department that did roughly the same stuff him and Arthur do in Charleston. About a month prior to Arthur leaving for Atlanta Moe called and got some side jobs for Arthur while he was there. No use in Arthur being in Atlanta on one single case. Moe gave Arthur the name and number of his friend, Jason Wittings, to Arthur and let Jason know Arthur would be coming to town for three months. Arthur packed his stuff up and got ready to leave for Atlanta.

When Arthur arrived in Atlanta he went to a real estate auction in Buckhead. He never liked renting and knew the housing bust had hit Atlanta in a way, so there was sure to be a few foreclosures. He landed it and got him a home for near dirt cheap. With his little compact car he drove and set up shop out of his home. His first order of business was to set up tails for the Husband and build some surveillance detection routes. Once this was done he looked into the extra work Moe had squared him away with through Jason. Arthur joined a local Gold’s gym to stay in shape and he worked with the local police to get his concealed permit authorized in the state of Georgia. Once he got this taken care of he met with Jason. Nice guy from what Arthur thought, they met at Waffle House and gave him his home number and address. Jason told Arthur if there was anything he needed to just call and he would help in any way he could. Arthur also started to alter his pattern of business. In Charleston he would work during the late morning to early evening. In Atlanta, he worked early evening to early morning. This is where he met Bubba…and his embrace.

Arthur was following one of his side jobs, a dead beat dad of 7 kids who was $50,000 overdue to his children’s mothers. It seemed this guy liked to get all 3 sisters in one family pregnant with his seed….then skip town when the times got tough. Arthur got the information on this guy and his whereabouts from Jason the night before when they met. Seems the guy Arthur was following was a drinker, so Arthur followed him to the bar Jason said he frequented. Arthur pulled up a table and ordered a drink, it had been about a month since Arthur had his last drink and he felt he deserved a few cold ones before the morning came.
